If you are a creepy, harassing asshole, people aren’t not nice to you because they are bullies. They are not nice to you because you are a creepy, harassing asshole.

They’ve already pivoted to blaming the ‘obstructionists’ in congress from getting more done.

Hey, friendly reminder.

“There are all sorts of issues over here, but the idea of a medical issue impacting your finances - or subsequently your home - sounds like the 1800s.”

We need to oppose this. Even if you do think ISPs should have a filter* on pornography (which I mostly don’t unless it’s outright illegal content, because I think it’s patronizing), these things virtually always sweep up a ton of stuff like sexual education sites and so forth along with them in the filters. That’s

My high school library blocked “sex” websites, including GLSEN, GLAAD, and collegiate GSAs. I guarantee Rhode Island will try to do the same.

There’s a responsibility inherent in parenting, a responsibility to keep your children from accessing violence and porn (in that order) on the internet. Placing that responsibility with the state is bullshit.

Exactly. I mean, maybe not PP in this case, but whenever you start “editing content for ‘the public good,’” you have to then question who’s doing the editing and what their agenda is. Given the long, thorny process of legally attempting to define what is “Art” and/or what is “Porn”, there is no way any decision will

This is actually really scary. Blanket blocks are TERRIBLE (as anyone that went to school and had anything on Breast cancer blocked by content monitoring software). This is also incredibly limiting and a true government overreach.

No way this stands up in court. Such an obvious 1st Amendment case. Not only is the definition of what sites can be blocked vague and capricious, but the fact you can pay 20 bucks to get around the block invalidates any claim about trying to protect anyone from anything.

It’s not making you pay money but in the Uk they’re allegdy trying to in the name of protecting children bring in an age verification service and it’s through a service that is being developed by Mindfreak (the company that owns pornhub)

Why 15 and not 18? The age of majority in France is 18, so I’m not sure why they went with 15 instead. If they’re worried about teenagers getting hit with rape charges, they could always have a range of exceptions to the rule for people under 21 and so forth.

The important thing is it’s 15 as opposed to no age limit. It’s a step in the right direction.

Dude, sex is determined my the sperm anyway, so...

I was at the Farmer’s Market with my newborn in a front wrap and the goat cheese guy asked me what I had “there” and I said “a baby” and he said “a baby human?” Only time anyone asked me to qualify “baby.” I live in Austin so I suppose there are people walking around with other baby animals strapped to them?

A friend got so annoyed by people asking ‘what she was having’. One time her bf snapped and just said ‘a baby’.

Same - I liked Joy and have zero interest in yet another “Rape and mutilation of women as entertainment” plotline.

THAT is a systemic problem fixable by single-payer, universal healthcare and it has nothing at all to do with Dr. Lee’s videos.
