I mean, after the Omega dlc for ME2, Afterlife pretty much becomes a morgue after you massacre tons of guys in it.

Dang it, my Nomad V is sad now
Yes, from the looks of it, Sony paid A LOT of money just to stunt on Microsoft. From the wording of Bungie’s own statement about the acquisition (still self-publishing, creatively independent, prioritizing their own IP, multi-platform), Sony is initially just paying for the ability to say they own Bungie. They…
Also, Sony just lost Call of Duty, so maybe they want to lock in some shooter Devs for the foreseeable future as well.
Are they developing something besides Destiny?
The ROI is that they get a large, successful game studio and all the people/tech/IP that comes with it. That’s pretty obvious.
Easy answer.
Bungie has been trying to expand Destiny beyond the game. Sony is the perfect vehicle to do so, what with having a dedicated music and video division. And Sony wants an experienced Live Service gaming studio in their direct umbrella to help push their own gaming ambitions. So it’s a win-win on that front. Bungie can…
Technology and talent.
Some people think in terms of quantity or quality of IPs, when a studio is bought but sometimes that’s not the case.
For example, Sony has been lacking in the FPS space for a while and the know-how of Bungie can contribute to create better games in this genre, since they’ve been doing it for a…
Bungie was never acquired by Activision Blizzard. They were simply a studio-publisher relationship when it came to Destiny, that’s all.
Bungie’s got at least one new IP in the hopper, which was subsidized by Ten Cent in 2018. Job postings over the last couple of years could be read to imply a hero shooter.
but what’s the ROI for Sony
Sony is buying Bungie because Sony sees live service games as a major revenue source that is only going to get bigger in the coming decade, and they need to onboard a bunch of talent that has experience developing and maintaining live service games.
Are they developing something besides Destiny?
Bungie will help create/develop 10 live service games for Sony before 2026. So they will be Playstation exclusives, but Bungie can still make multiplatform games, however Sony will get the revenue after paying Bungie’s employees. Almost the same deal they had with Activision minus the 10 games bit.
They’ve expressed an interest in expanding into other media and creating an extended universe of sorts, with a tv show being the most likely to be developed first. They also have another unnamed PvP game in the works. Bungie gets funding and creative freedom, plus Sony’s strong experienced in multimedia entertainment,…
It’s made me incredibly happy. :)
Please be courteous while you simulate a literal war for territorial dominance.
Thank you for pointing out what a bunch of younglings wont understand hahaha, I can visually see this in my hands and me trying to angle my GBA away from the sun.
this really seems like it should be a bug but at the same time I have no idea how the mods function. Is it a texture with the white skin on it or is it an applied texture where only the tattoo is visible while the rest of the texture is invisible and it just gets applied to the character model over top of the skin…
