It’s against US Flag code, but not illegal. It falls under the First Amendment. There was a whole kerfuffle in the 90's with wanting a Amendment to the Constitution (yes that one), led by the GOP (back then). IIRC basically Supreme Court precedent or legal scholars figured it wouldn’t pass muster.

You’d be surprised how difficult it is to wrest control of an account back from social media, or to integrate multiple accounts to a single administration. Actually, no you wouldn’t it’s exactly as difficult as you think.
