The biggest argument I’ve heard that has a whiff of plausibility to it for paying women less is that women have a higher net training cost once you factor in length of service, because women have children and enough of them do not return to work, preferring to become stay-at-home moms or otherwise not contributing to…
Star’d you because 1) I agree & 2) I wanna see how your words are going to be twisted around and used against you :)
At the risk of being the unpopular opinion, it is very hard for people to have an intelligent discussion about the topic considering there are individuals who will hunt you down and try to get you fired or worse if they disagree with you on topics such as this.

I’m sorry, “mansplain?”
If this were truly the case, corporations would hire only women as they could pay them less.
The infographic selectively adjusts criteria each time to show a gap. What is the gap if you control for everything except for gender?
Like all statistics, they can be setup to get the result you desire before you ever start collecting data. Say for instance, if you want to negate the fact that women have that whole pregnancy leave thing, then there’s 3-4 months of lower (or no) pay that women receive that their male counterparts get regular pay.…
The wage gap is a myth that has been explained many many times with objective facts. But objective facts make it difficult to play politics.
At the end of the day, the most convincing argument is the fact that men have jobs. If an employer could save 22% on the most significant expense, why wouldn’t they do it? Of…
I mean, the thing is that this is an issue where there are legitimate disagreements about methodology and conclusions. It’s very hard to do sound social science on these topics. Reasonable people can reasonably disagree about the size and sources of the wage gap. But as soon as you accuse anyone who thinks the gap is…
So how does this work when you need a new roof...?gotta remove the panels and then reinstall? Lol
Great, so now my mail that has sensitive personal information will be stored on a government server somewhere just waiting to be hacked by a dude in his mom’s basement in Romania... Thanks USPS... I really needed that.
I signed up for this... Not really sure why. It sort of takes the fun and surprise out of my daily (save for Sunday of course) walk to the mail box to see what is inside. I can see the benefit if you are away for vacation or work, or perhaps to confirm that something was in fact sent and subsequently delivered to you.
My original post was tongue in cheek, and was not meant to be interpreted as this being A) actually similar to a ransom demand, or B)that I don’t know what a ransom demand is.
Time to don the tinfoil hat. Who else is getting “Informed Delivery” notices about who is sending you mail? NSA? CIA? FBI? Russians? Dems? Repubs? Deep State?
They were already scanning them, though. Emailing out the images isn’t tough at that point. And if anything it’s more of a reaction to their ongoing demise than a cause of it.
Pretty sure email and the rest of the Internet has a lot more to do with that than them emailing some scans of your letters.
How is this similar to a ransom demand?
I’ve been a test member of this service since the beginning. Its actually really great, but annoying at the same time - when you see a piece of mail that doesn’t physically show up at your house for 3-5 days because it ended up in either someone elses mailbox or some other black hole.
or if you drive it 1mph under the speed limit and never over 3K rpms, like 90% of toyotas
