I would kill to get Outlook 2013 at work. Web based email/calendar/contacts/tasks instead of a single app is really a pain.

At first I was a big One Note proponent and then switched to Evernote because it seemed like the support was so much better. I'm back to OneNote and no looking back. Inking, search, and syncing on OneNote is incomparable.

I could see this a problem if this was a company whose overwhelming majority of revenue and profits came from advertisements and not, well multiple billion dollar businesses not advertising.

No. You can use it all by itself. If you use an ios device then the app there is free as well.

You can use the OneNote Online all by itself. No need to purchase anything. It will sync to any OneNote app. The iPhone, Android, WP8, iPad, and W8 Metro apps are all free.

Not sire about ucfi but secure boot is just a option you can turn off in the settings of an x86 PC/tablet.

Installing Ubuntu on an X86 tablet should be no different than any other x86 PC. I thought you wanted an android tablet from a windows rt tablet which makes no sense.

Then just get an Android tablet. Plenty out there to pick from.
