And if you need a parts car there’s a rough one for sale cheap up here in Buffalo

I know we’re all about “get it in the good color”, but I do think that, just like for shooting film there is a reason to shoot black and white versus color, there is a good reason to have cars in black and white as well. Black and white film eliminates color as an element and forces you to focus on composition, light

There used to be a time when I would stop at any car show or cruise night I could find. Could not get enough. Stumbling on a random car show used to be exciting. But at some point it stopped being fun. Maybe because the cars stop being interesting once you’ve seen the same ones a thousand times.

I see better cars

This is absolutely the approach I would take. Frame everything as a national security issue and you can win the news cycle in perpetuity.

It’s absolutely the Accord. It started with the first gen and the second gen drove it home by being the first Japanese car manufactured in the United States at Marysville. The auto industry in the US was never the same after the Honda Accord showed up.

There are similar stories from other GM plants too, especially Lordstown.

My favorite thing about NUMMI is that the guys GM sent there to learn how to build cars good were basically alienated from GM because GM simply COULD NOT change how it did things in any meaningful way. Some of them got redemption years later,

You should find some books about GM in the 70s-80s. Holy moly, what a nightmare those factories were.

Paul Ingrassia’s “Comeback” is pretty comprehensive, grab a used copy cheap.

The fuselage mopars are some of the best looking cars ever made

My dad had a ‘72 Newport sedan in piss yellow back in the late 70s. Said it was absolutely the biggest car he’d ever owned.

I have no regrets from my short ownership of a basket-case example. Totally worth doing.

Right, it would be a great tool for us, the buyer...

...to do the dealer’s job for them.

It still won’t stop the dealers from putting totally wrong info in their Cars.com listings.

This car is like an episode of the Twilight Zone where the protagonist wakes up in a world that looks perfectly normal, but is just a little bit off in ways that slowly compound until the character goes mad.

I’ve been ignoring this game. But now I feel like I can’t do that anymore. These cars are rad.

Oh my. I gotta have this.

Sailin’ the seas of cheese

I might even offer that, if enjoyed ironically, the PT Cruiser is cooler than this.

[extremely Rob Zombie voice]

Every Dodge Dart I’ve ever seen looks like it has been through a war. There is not a single one of these anywhere that hasn’t been absolutely abused.

You know how the sign of a Camry driver is the Camry Corner? A playful little bump that lets you know they might not be a great driver, but they were smart enough to buy

Yup. My ‘90 with the 305 and of OD trans got pretty darn good mileage for the size.
