You’d probably have a solid argument. Insurance companies always qualify their insurance of your vehicle by asking if it has been modified in a way that would make it less safe, and I would think that blacked out taillights would count as modified.

I am eagerly awaiting the TUV trials to see just how much money and time David is willing to throw at this van. My hope is that he’s all-in and that things will get very silly.

Hell yeah. And Loretta could beat me up any time.

Woah, that’s cool! All it needs is a working cassette deck. Though I think it gets the job done on its own. Awesome that Blaupunkt actually makes that.

Like, imagine tossing in something that looks like an old Blaupunkt but has a lil Bluetooth button?

I’m honestly stunned someone like RetroSound isn’t making an 80s style single DIN AM/FM cassette deck that has bluetooth functionality. They’re like...halfway there with this thing.

Too much love in this Loosiana hearrrrrrtttt

Would that I was financially stable enough to do such a thing haha

I would probably go with Trifecta, they seem to have a good reputation.

I have no idea why anyone would even buy a used Tacoma. Just buy a new one. They literally don’t depreciate. Put down a modest downpayment and you’ll never be underwater.

Been debating doing this. Trading my ‘14 Impala for a ‘11-’13 Regal with the 2.0l Turbo 4, so I can put a big tune on it.

There’s so little out there that I would want to trade up into.

What are the chances the Sonata’s 2.5L is going to take a tune that makes it any more impressive though? That’s what I’m getting at. If this thing can take a tune that puts it up to 360hp at the crank then maybe we can give Hyundai some praise. But if it can’t do much better than an old Buick...

The new Sonata N Line is already confirmed to get the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine shared by the new Kia K5 and Genesis G80 sedans along with an 8-speed dual-clutch. The package will likely deliver 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque through the front axle.”

That’s not particularly impressive power

The Heartbeat of America (pounding in your ears as you work yourself into a sweat trying to get the tailgate to stay closed)

I absolutely agree. They echo the boxiness of the squarebody while smoothing the edges into something that ends up looking timeless. Some people would probably say they’re boring, but I think they’re elegant in their simplicity.

I posted this as a reply to a thread about how big and dangerous to pedestrians trucks

I always thought those Tahoes were super weird looking, but in the last few years I’ve really come around on them. They’re commanding a hefty price tag now, though.

I have always appreciated how few fucks they gave about modernizing the Champ. But yeah, the “stepside” variant is MUCH better to look at.

This makes the most sense to me. ICE cars are near a point of diminishing returns when it comes to trying to eek out efficiency gains.

For sure. There is one (1!) new regular cab long bed truck priced under $30k within 150 miles of me. And it’s a 2019 model.

Hell yeah. All the parts you can smash into things cost $4 to replace.
