It’s frustrating because NMS is obviously yet another game that really challenges the ways in which we approach games critically. I would hate - HATE - this game if I felt like I needed to just “get through it” so I could meet a review deadline (and I really appreciate how Kirk has obviously done his best to eschew

I cannot believe I didn’t think of this.

YES! I’ve been playing hours per day since it came out just doing this. Taking my time, enjoying the sights, taking screenshots of the ridiculous and awesome creatures I encounter, with no sense of urgency and I absolutely love this game. I totally can see how it wouldn’t be for everybody, but this is perfect for how

I say that if your favorite parts of Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, GTA, etc... are the wandering around and taking in the environments, give No Man’s Sky a chance at some point.

I actually get the distinct opposite impression. I think that the “sprint to the center of the galaxy” is only there because people kept asking “What’s the point/objective of the game?” where the developers just wanted to make a game where you could explore planets.

I’d say his second play through is much closer to what the game is actually designed for, frankly. The game doesn’t ever push you to “sprint to the center of the galaxy.”

Jesus, “it’s truly sad?” Really?

I don’t know, do what I do, wait a year, get it for cheap with all of the bug patches and DLC, then pig out on the best mods. I haven’t played Fallout 4 yet for this very reason.

There are 18 quintillion planets. If the game has 20 million players (probably doesn’t have that many), each player would have to discover 9 billion planets for there to be none left for you. That said, its not as deep of an experience as I had hoped for. I’m glad I played it for 20 hours or so, but I’m already bored

My opinion is this: If you want a good survival game, skip No Man’s Sky. If you enjoy just walking around and looking at things, buy it. I fall into the latter and it’s a fantastic experience.

I’ve found it worth 60$ so far, and I’m only 15 hours in.

There’s 18 quintillion planet, and you are seriously worried about there being nothing left to discover? Jesus, the hate for this game is insane.

Everyone except the millions of folks playing the game and enjoying it.

This game is pretty fantastic when you feel the total freedom to take your time. Take in the vistas. Laugh at the ridiculous chicken/t-rex hybrids. Leisurely float through space. Take tons of screenshots. Just explore. It facilitates a sense of just BEING there really nicely. You seem to be getting at a bit of that

It’s truly sad that you’re labeling a game you haven’t played as disappointing. Why don’t you open the box and form your own opinion, you asshat?

That second play through sounds like a perfect relax and unwind game. Maybe not a $60 game, but a game that will be worth picking up later and then spending dozens of hours inside.

I think it should be pointed out that progression is hugely important, which I didn’t see mentioned here. Unless your goal is to maintain your current body...adding weight or reps to the lifts is just as important as choosing which lifts to do. Personally I’ve found that doing low rep simple compound barbell lifts

I probably can’t recommend the 5x5 Stronglifts workout more. I’m taking a little break from it as I ease back into my workout schedule but I did it for about 3-4 months and the progress was great.
