Yes, thank you. There are way too many comments on this article (and to some degree the article does this too) that are making men the butt of some kind of joke. Oh, men are so sensitive, their masculinity is so precious—let’s all laugh! But it’s the same kind of pressure we have to always be pretty and never be

You must be a real gem to date. How many times can you say ‘evopsych’ in one post? You sound like some shrew who thinks everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is the mans fault. Well, you’re certainly on the right website for that.

...and none of the really smart comments are written by you

They quite literally puffed themselves up on paper to compensate for feeling like pussies in reality.

Femininity is also hella fragile. Have you seen women either flee in fear or get viciously indignant at the slightest idea that they could be any less than thin? Humans in general are bad at taking what they perceive to be criticism, whether or not it actually *is*.

Men get beat up (by other men) all the time. And murdered. In fact, way more often than women.

except for the part where you said you’re single because guys do this

you’re probably single because you generalize and most humans find that to be pretty annoying and patronizing! But I’m sure it’s because all men can’t stand how independent you are, FIERCE!!!

Chris Rock commented on this. Women dye their hair, shave their legs, wear high heels, buy push-up bras, paint their faces and talk about how they wish they could meet a real man. (I’m not complaining, just observing.)

I think you may be onto something.

  • Az di bobe volt gehat beytsim volt zi geven mayn zeyde! - If my grandmother had testicles she would be my grandfather.

The distinguishing factor is how petty their reasons for doing so are.

Kind of funny that when women have various issues surrounding body image and so on, we empathize with them as victims of a cruel society. When it’s men who have issues thanks to being raised with the same kind of gender-specific brainwashing.....well they are just assholes.

That sounds less like some exertion of masculinity and more like irrational denial that his body unexpectedly betrayed him in such a fundamental way.

I think when you lose what you believe defines you as a person, you begin to exhibit behavior that is described in the article. It’s the final bulwark that no matter what else is happening in life you can depend on. When that’s gone you fear that you won’t have the strength to provide or protect the people you care

The patriarchy hurts everyone.

Fine! I’m 6’1. Alright? You happy? But I’m 6’5 in heels.
