This is more like if they kept making same Batman movie over and over again. If I trusted Hollywood to do her justice, I'd rather have a Hatshepsut movie.

I am ok with supers movies, due to a lot of written original material.

Nope. But has that every stopped the Hollywood machine?

Do we really need another Cleopatra movie?

All the liberal white women that were on Twitter labeling this bit “misogynist”...yikes.

There’s actually a fairly lengthy interview with William Zabka on the A/V Club. The nutshell version is that as the decade came to a close and his particular brand of eighties-style villainy was no longer en vogue, he did a lot of low budget, direct-to-video schlock and directed an Oscar nominated short film.

Is this more of a small-town thing or something? I honestly can’t even comprehend that mentality. I have so little memory of anything or anyone, apart from the handful of friends I still talk to, from high school, and I’m only 32. I still see those few friends semi-regularly, and our high school years are pretty much

Also, there are a lot of people out there who never got over high school

What about the Scientology-approved Good Guys?

At the time I thought “not a great movie”.  Looking back on it with my 2020 sensibilities and I realise it couldn’t have been more problematic if it had come with the tagline “Bitches be Super-Crazy”.

It’s like she thinks she presents this front to the world that is completely different from how the world really sees her.

This would have worked much better as a “rich people have problems too” piece back in 2018 than image rehab during a pandemic.

I appreciate Paris Hilton doing this for sexual assault but it swerved almost entirely into Rose McGowan “this is my chance for more limelight” territory quickly.

I’ve no idea what happened to her at that school, but I’ve a hard time believing that’s what made her one of the most shallow people on the planet. She gained nothing from her stint at a minimum security prison.

Hahahaaa! Oh shit, that moment when she says “I just can’t stop working” after her friend asked if she really wants marriage and children. “I..I just can’t stop until I make a billion dollars (she’s worth 300 million). I mean, I just have to make sure we’ll be O.k.” OK for what??? To buy and run your own country? Pay

she was doing an interview on BPM (sirius) this past weekend and was going into how hard she had it. The interviewer, I couldn’t tell if he was being sarcastic or not, mentioned the scenes about the school and wow how are you still here. Personally speaking her view of having it hard is something many whom really have

Yeah, sorry, call me cynical but I’m not really buying the theory that her brand is the result of her trauma. She would like for the viewers to come to that conclusion and somehow be redeemed but I know plenty of trauma survivors who don’t end up racist, homophobic fame whores. I’m not saying it had no impact, but I

Yeah I feel precisely 0 percent bad for Paris Hilton. I was bullied and I’m not a vile entitled racist cunt. Maybe kind of a cunt but in a fun way.

I’m sorry, but that’s absurd. Most of this leaked at the peak of her fame when she was continuing to be given TV shows and endless opportunities. People cared about her, they gave her a pass because she was wealthy and enviable.

Good report, Rich, but I think the answer to why she was given a pass is actually heartwarming: no one cares.

🎯🎯🎯 as always Rich! For those of us who were young, at that time and remember this as popular culture, this isn’t news, and we never swept it under the rug. The information is there, plain as day, like anything else from that time.
