To be fair I don’t think they honestly believe the whole “we’re not political” thing, I think that’s just a thing they feel they HAVE to say because alt-right shitheads will start sending employees death threats over it, just look how bent out of shape they got over Far Cry 5 because it was “anti-white”.

As for this,

Because the alt right, and by extension the Republican Party itself, is increasingly reliant on conspiracy theories to peddle its bullshit.  Yes, I remember the days when conspiracy theories seemed relatively harmless; now they’re increasingly taking on a political bent, and typically cast people on the left as

Jesus CHRIST Ubisoft, what the hell is wrong with you?! I went into this article assuming it would just be a case of them using something a graphic or imagery similar to the raised-fist in a poorly thought out or negative context that somebody should have noticed and scrapped ahead of time. But the fact that the whole

There was no coincidence or mistake, the game’s plot is clearly ripped from the headlines. “Violent anarchists” co-opting a revolutionary movement is more right wing nonsense. Any chance you guys can do an article looking into the recent wave of fascist games? Call of Duty and Tom Clancy were always right wing

That thing where you gotcha by pretending to not understand the simplest ideas of context is always a new and winning strategy.

It’s different when the creator of the property does it.

As the creator, I think he has a bit more right to complain.

I’t almost like being a horrible person has consequences...

See also, every other police union.

Did you just skip over the part where he talks about how important Sunspot’s race to his character’s development? That’s the only example he harps on to any degree, and I’d say that’s pretty damn valid coming from the creator of said character. A big part of the character’s identity is being half black, and they made

How crazy is it that Rand Paul held up the vote on the anti lynching bill and then gets accosted by and “angry mob” and acts like a scared lickle bioch. This incident shows how little respect these politician deserve. If it were a mob, his ponce ass would have been doing the Fox interview from a hospital bed.

If you can’t grasp the fundamental difference between “some dude on the internet” and “the actual creator of the characters” I don’t know what to say.

Probably deliberate - the NYPD Police Union is absolute garbage.

Because the creator has a bigger right to be angry about the fact that their work has been significantly changed in the process of adaptation? I very much believe in changing things in adaptations to accommodate the new medium, but I’d be irked about something they changed from my work, even if 99% of it was right.

Am I becoming paranoid, or is it disturbing that a police union seems comfortable throwing around “sundown” ultimatums at a time like this? Was this deliberate, or just really fucking tone deaf?

I don’t think it’s a binary thing. Yeah, some fans are over the top in complaining that changes are made when going from book to film, and it is sometimes the case that the changes are thoughful or necessary or even an improvement but fans with blinders can’t see that.

I’m so glad all of these government employees were here to protect me.

And it will most likely happen because the best idea the Democrats could come up with after four years of this shit was to run JOE BIDEN on a platform consisting of “I’m the old racist white guy who doesn’t know how to behave around women who’s not named Donald Trump”.

$5 says tump wins again because everything is terrible and people will continue to vote against their own self interest because they want a man who will “tell it like it is.”
