Since you’re in the industry- any truth to the notion that Quibi was also a way to be able to generate content while screwing over below the line folks by not paying union rates because of the length of the episodes or something to that effect?

I’ve bounced around the TV industry for 15 or so years as both a creative exec and an admin assistant at major studios, agencies, production companies, etc.

True, short-form episodes and videos are actually a very good idea.  The bad idea was asking people to pay for it as yet another streaming expense instead of making it a free service with ads or attaching themselves to a proven streaming service.  

Never understood it in the golden age of bingewatching.  There’s a million ways to kill 10 minutes on your phone that don’t require programming specific for it. 

I thought there was a restriction that you could only watch it on mobile (and maybe tablet) as well. That seems like they put in extra effort to make it less user friendly which seems like an extremely stupid feature.

Yelling threats are not the same as the threat of immediate bodily harm.  Plus, the couple were in their car and could have retreated to safety.  This was not self defense.
