I would say it’s very questionable whether he was actually good. The guy finishes with a career 60.3% completion rate and a 116-116 record, both completely average. Led the league in interceptions three times en route to 241 of them, never broke 70 QBR once in a single season, hasn’t had a double-digit win team this

Deadspin needs more women writers.

Roethlisberger cares very little about consent.

I don’t think this article is arguing one way or the other. The takeaway that I had is the entire discussion around this matter is seen almost exclusively through the male gaze, which shapes the discussion and decisions that follow.

The #MeToo movement never really hit sports.

No part of me feels good about laughing at that, but no part of me stopped me either.

Big Ben sucks and I'm excited to see what Maya Rudolph can do in a new role

The October 28th game will determine next year’s draft.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer person.

That would be lovely!

I hope it was his pinning arm.

Throw in an immovable right elbow and I’d say somebody should corner the market on singles and sell to him at a markup.

Big Ben with nothing to do must be a Steel-Town stripper nightmare.

Great leg, made tackles, once ran down an old HOF RB. He’s got to get in.

Undoubtedly. He’s the greatest kicker to have ever played in the NFL. If he’s not put in at the first chance it will be a damn travesty.

Yes, I’d say so. In terms of role and performance, he’s basically the Mariano Rivera of the NFL, who sailed in to his HOF unanimously.

Is Vinatieri the first kicker who is absolutely, for sure a bonafide first ballot Hall of Famer? There’s a part of me that goes “the NFL HOF voting braintrust will find some reason to not want a kicker to get in the first time he’s eligible”...but he’s Adam fuckin’ Vinatieri. This is as close to a slam dunk first
