I gladly pay for Netflix, and they are producing a huge amount of new content (some of which is really good), and — spoiler alert — none of those shows have commercial breaks.

Between its complete lack of commercials and à-la-carte format, the Netflix model is just so so much better than broadcast TV (or, a dumb internet version of the same).

Given how consistently good animated films tend to be, I’d say there’s an important lesson to learn here, especially for all the folks who are currently churning out shitty movies (e.g. anything in the DC cinematic universe).
