I truly don’t understand how there’s an argument about whether this was right or wrong.

This was a *BAD* move on the Miata’s part.

Maybe I did it wrong but my experience does not reflect this.

Back in 2013 I bought a 2005 Tacoma Double Cab TRD with 155k miles on it. I paid $11,500 for the truck. Traded it in with 190k in late 2015 and got $8500 for it.

On the flip side, that truck was the biggest pile of shit I’ve ever owned. I couldn’t ever get rid of the scary soft brake pedal, the rear leaf springs

This only further motivates me to have a W211 E55. I had an E60 M5, but I now realize I should have just bought the Mercedes. Lower cost of admission, lower maintenance costs, etc....not to mention....much cheaper power adders.

Probably doesn’t have a soft performance compound tire either.

I don’t guess you’re anywhere near Kings Island, in Ohio are you?

Yeahhhhh, I’d go as far as to call myself a fan-boi of this generation of 5 and 7....but $21k? You’re talking near Enthusiast Automotive money for a franken-car. NP at $12k....CP at $21k.

Except Chicken.

In my personal experience there is some truth to this.

TLDR Driving is dangerous and no matter how you do it or what you do it in, you have a better chance of dying while driving than being struck by lightning.

Thank you! I believe as someone else here mentioned, the manufacturers for the most part have created a situation where the bar is set at *Perfection.* It’s simply unrealistic, it leaves no room for the inevitable human error(s) that will occur(and I don’t think that simple once in a blue moon mistakes should cost

I just put a Mazmart Re-medy water pump and thermostat, as well as aluminum radiator...AND SOHN adapter in a 2004 with 19k miles.

It’s probably got a good 20k left in that engine.

Exactly. One of the questions on ours is “Comfort of the sales advisors desk,” which of course we can’t do anything about....but that will still effect our CSI, hence our compensation.

Working at a high end car dealership, CSI is very important to us. For me, as a sales person, anything under a 99.5% drops our commission percentage. Each person I sell a vehicle to, I let them know before they even leave that they will be receiving a survey from Corporate, and that it will in fact effect my

Perhaps I missed this, but what part of Ohio was this in?

You got a Chrysler 2.7L to 284k??? This man is a wizard.

For the most part I can corroborate this, I’ve had to re-wrap the interior A, B, and C pillars, every single rubber bushing, everywhere has been replaced, all 4 window regulators, valve cover and oil pan gaskets, cooling system, I could go on. Never left me stranded though, *knocks heavily on wood.*

Mechanically they aren’t really different than the E39 540i, 99% of the electrics are the same as well. Mine has 240k miles and counting. They can be a pain in the ass for sure, but...just buy one. You may or may not regret it.

No 3 Series are currently built state-side. They are built in Germany and South Africa.

The X3, X4, X5, and X6 are currently built in Spartanburg, however.
