In the end, you may as well. Cost of admission will be a bit higher, but you have a lot of the same issues. Running costs will be about the same haha.

In that case, find a clean, LCI 540i MSport. Have a PPI done on it. Inevitably it’ll have a lower oil pan gasket leak or something but I wouldn’t be concerned about that. On these things it’s as simple as removing the belly pan to get to it. I had to rehab my front suspension, do a tuneup, and I replaced the lower

I dd an 01 E39 540i 6mt. 240k miles and counting. Absolutely love this stupid car. 10/10 recommend if you don’t mind spending a weekend every few months fixing whatever issues pop up.

Wow, couldn’t even afford the “good” 3.5l V6....instead he was “showing off” in his 2.7l, 4 speed auto bucket...hahaha

Right now with BMW you can get a Retired Courtesy Vehicle for 1% up to 72 months. These are untitled vehicles, so technically new with miles, and a better warranty than a brand new vehicle, sometimes with 10k+ off MSRP. The regular CPO vehicles rates aren’t nearly as aggressive, though the pricing is usually 6-9k

Ah shame, I don’t remember her :/

Truth! I just had chipotle from there this past monday, only to be disappointed by a bowl that wasn’t overflowing with goodness -_-.

Not to mention the parking lot entrance that seems too willing to rip out the undercarriage of whatever you’re driving.

I take this same route every day, how long ago are we talking? haha

The title of this article is like the beginning of a bad play on words joke.

BMW N62 V8;

In order to do the water pump, you must remove the crank pulley, because 1 of 5 bolts is behind the friggin’ thing.

Definitely not OE, working for BMW for the past 3 and a half years(and driving them for close to 10), I learned a long time ago that OE was simply not worth the additional cost. I replaced the center link, tie rod ends, tension struts(bushings already in), and front lower control arms. Between two other e39's I’ve

I just did an entire front suspension refresh on my 540i for less than $300 in parts.

Absolutely would have to be replacing the Control Arm/Tension Strut bushings with poly bits on my E39 540 M Sport. In addition to an H&R/Bilstein Cup Kit with an M5 rear sway bar, entirely transformed the character of this car. Couldn’t be happier.

If you get in an early(2006) E9x BMW 3 Series, don’t wear your seatbelt, start driving, and switch the turn signals on, you get the seat belt gong but no turn signal clicking. I guess the body module can only make one noise at a time.

While I see your point, these things coming in off lease (I work for a BMW Center here in Ohio) there is negligible, if any reduction in overall range after 20-40k miles that we see on them. I think the batteries are far more durable than one would think.

It appears the tires definitely had air pressure before leaving the roadway.

These things are super accessible if you find one Certified Pre-Owned. Seems like a solid choice.

If someone gets me the VIN on this thing I’ll be happy to run a CarFax.

That was an F8x too. Appeared to be Yas Marina Blue. Jeez.

I work for a premium dealer here in southern Ohio. Regularly we purchase off lease vehicles from auction so we can Certify them. Condition reports, Carfax, Arbitration, etc make it pretty difficult to get a bad deal. If the car arrives with undisclosed damage, we’re compensated or simply return the car.
