I have a light just outside my office that I have to turn left through every day. It is much safer to turn left when my light is red than when it’s green, so I run that red light every chance I get. It’s the only light I run, as I’m normally trying to set a good example and be a good bike citizen.

The braking claim is THIN. Consumer Reports provided a chart of 9 vehicles. 4 of the electric vehicles had a GREATER stopping distance than their gas equivalents. Unless they’ve got a lot more data, that’s not a statistical significance I’d hang my hat on. Their explanation also has holes in it.

9000 fucking pounds? Jesus Christ we can’t even do EVs right. Every day I’m more and more convinced that we flew too close to the sun a long time ago but convinced ourselves that the horrible burns were a nice tan. Fuck it all, no engines over 200 hp without paying for a more comprehensive license and any vehicle over

And then they finally make the pass, and after a stop sign or light they need to do it again. And again.”

Oh I’m sure the comments on this will be just... ugh. but I’m gonna try anyway.

There’s a stoplight near my house that’s got some kind of trigger that my bike cannot make switch. Because it’s a side road to main road, the light just won’t change unless triggered. So as a cyclist, I have the option of waiting until a

This type of rule (stop signs as yields, red lights as stop signs) makes a lot of sense. In many cases, urban lights are timed for peak traffic or are sensor activated. That means most of the time, reds occur when there is little to no traffic. It’s entirely reasonable that at most of these intersections a bicycle or

Now I think is a good time to mention how James May said that cars tuned for tracks like the Nurburgring makes them terrible to use everywhere else.

“You can’t manage people properly without the human element” - All the middle managers who are terrified they might need to get real jobs now that we’ve proven their cushy jobs are mostly useless.

Honestly, the 3rd row is the best part. Mostly because it can be removed/folded and give you an actual decent-sized trunk.

I’ve never even heard of these before! Thank you for giving me a rabbit hole to fall down. :)

Fold the third row and pretend it’s not there.

I would think the *owners* of the fancy cars would be less than thrilled about having them parked on the street. If I knew a shop was doing that with my car I wouldn’t be taking my car there.

Still, many economists agree Germany could wean itself off Russian gas if it really wanted to.”

Thank you for keeping the tradition alive.

I’m a massive tankie

The United States never, not for one minute of the pandemic, had any sweeping federal mandates. There’s nothing to even protest in D.C.

Since Torch is Audi 5000, I think someone needs to offer up a weirdo example. Might I tempt her with a car that revolutionized comfort? Something built to handle post war France’s ruined roads with ease? Yes, the answer is a Citroen DS. This one comes well under her price cap, leaving plenty of room to stock up on

The oligarchs are bad people, full stop.

I love that F1 is hell-bent on having events in every country in the world that’s currently actively involved in offensive war or knee-deep in proxy stuff. Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Saudi. Texas I guess lol

Great job
