He didn’t *master* the violin in 3 weeks. He figured out how to passably play it for people who don’t know what good violinists sound or play like.

People say the Left eats itself when we call out literally anything because the Right doesn’t understand the concept of holding yourselves to your own standards. Sometimes people freak out over a character’s skin being drawn a percent lighter than canon, but you hear “the Left eats itself” every time there’s any kind

I think the lack of women at these is indicative of a larger problem, which is in itself indicative of an even larger problem.

I love this game, I bought a Playstation 4 back in 2015 specifically for this game. I haven’t played for a few years, but it holds a special place in my heart. I hope they finish strong in Final Shape. I think I’ve just been burned out by this cycle.

It used to be my dream to be an author, but I probably have better grandma skills than I do grammar skills and I’m not even a grandma much less a ma or even grand, so I really appreciate the conversation that you’ve evoked. I feel like there’s a few main ways that people engage with games, each with their own unique

The movie industry is FULL of middle-ground movies, we just ignore them because they don’t get heavily marketed. Same with games. The gaming industry is FULL of middle-ground games that even win top awards, we just ignore them because they don’t get heavily marketed.

i think opening the feedback floodgates is probably the worst thing that ever happened to gaming as an artform.

also any random artist can take inspiration from another, if i make a collage from say photos etc that makes up a picture is that my art or am i stealing other peoples art?

Even accepting the underlying assumption of your argument (that algorithmically generated art will occupy a central place for... artists, which remains to be seen), that says absolutely nothing about how it’s presented, rolled out and used.

“Except that Human Beings are themselves just biological machines”

It’s strange that we continue to apply the machine-body metaphor in this way where we give the machine precedence over the body, even though it is the machine that is derived from nature.

Humans are not biological machines; machines are physical

Um... no. Just no.

The idea that you need expensive supplies to create art is a myth. You can get by with a 5 dollar Crayola watercolor set and make something great. Time is universal it’s simply if you want to dedicate the time or not. A privilege sure, but not an insurmountable one. Not to mention its easier then ever to learn for

No. Just no. I dont know who the ‘extremely privileged artists’ you know are but I’ve been a professional illustrator for 6 years and believe me none of that has been taken for granted because prior to that i grew up on one of the biggest council estates in Europe, was very poor and had to work jobs to support myself

Exactly what part of Nintendo selling old Nintendo games constitutes "other people's work"?

“Taking other people's work and selling it for his own profit." Isn't that exactly what Nintendo is doing when they sell 35 year old games?

God damn i wish this wasnt so fucking true right now. Im am STRUGGLING to finish this season pass, but like why the fuck am i going to bother if this game has become so anti fun? But i really love that gaudy russian themed armor from this season pass AND I MUST HAVE IT. And I am part of the problem.
