I talked with the Figaro owner (there were actually two at the show). She mentioned that the company that she bought it from brought it up to CA emissions and safety for her to some unmentioned cost.

Sounds pretty V6y. Maybe a base spec V6?
Interesting. In SF it’s almost all 3 series.
Big cars don’t sell. That’s reality. When they made the CTS bigger, they cut it’s sales prospects. It went from a car that was “roomy” compared to the 3 series to a 5 series competitor. It sells at half that rate and how many of those do you see on the road? How many people are clamoring about the 5 series?
Dude, one of these failed to meet reserve on BaT about 2 days ago. Values have flattened out. Sorry.
I’m a bit afraid of leasing. The bankers are always smarter than I am with numbers. To do a lease would require me doing quite a bit of homework.
Agreed, but the OP’s logic still holds up at $17k ;)
People are shocked by this? This is pretty much how silicon valley rolls. Companies raise money, a few execs give themselves 600% pay bumps and anyone lucky enough to be an early employee MIGHT get 25%. No revenue? No problem.
Honestly, I’d rather have the F-Type. The only issue with the F-Type (and the biggest reason I haven’t run down to a local dealer waving cash around) is that they are still dropping like rocks on the used market. For those cars, it seems like age, not miles, is the biggest driver of depreciation. I’m FINE with that.…
$17k for 1100 miles is a trade I would make every. single. time.
Can someone invent a quiet garbage truck? Please?
Hah, logic. Those tests are incredibly expensive and are to make sure you don’t injure the other satellites/the rocket. On this launch, no one really cares about those things.
For payloads going to space, they typically need to pass a litany of tests including a vibration test to make sure screws etc won’t fall out. On one hand, I doubt they have gone back through and epoxied over all the screws. On the other hand, I also doubt his early-run model has the world’s best workmanship. My guess…
I have a neighbor who drives one those beat up pickup trucks that has its bed built sky high with plywood for hauling things like cardboard. For some reason, he never parks it in front of his own house. I get so much joy out of parking my beater Miata there any time he leaves. I’ll drive the Lancer so that I dont have…
I look at people wrenching on cars in cold, salt laden, miserable places and I just think: I wouldn’t be a car guy anymore.
Oh god, Wild Weasel. You’re disturbingly correct.
Unfortunately, all that cost is offset by technology designed to do anything except make it more comfortable. The only true non-obvious comfort improvement is the 787's better-pressure cabin.
