Agreed. Short movies can have terrible pacing that makes them feel longer than they should be and long movies can be well crafted and feel a lot shorter than they actually are.

Agreed, especially given the rumors that “The Batman” is a detective story with influences from Seven, Chinatown, Zodiac and Heat, which each of the villains (Penguin, Catwoman, various crime lords [ie, Falcone] and presumably corrupt cops) being separate criminal activities Batman is investigating (all of which are…
Water ice or some other chemicals that are reactive to light...whatever the extra substance is in the regolith on the far-side that is causing the extra stickiness mentioned in the article.
Agreed. The only other explanation I can think of is the varying degrees of volcanic activity on the near-side and far-side of the moon. Perhaps the greater volcanic activity on the near-side caused extra chemical reactions that left the regolith less sticky than on the far-side.
While the near-side receives marginally less total sunlight on its surface due to lunar eclipses, the near-side also receives Earthshine (sunlight reflected off the Earth) during full moons. The Earthshine the near-side receives during new moons more than out weights the sunlight loss during lunar eclipses. Remember…
There is no permanently dark side of the moon.
I enjoyed parts of the first 3 episodes and was pretty meh on other parts, specific most of the story set in the present time (I liked the present in the 4th episode). I think the issue centers on the decision to tell the story using flashbacks interlaced with the present time.
I heard it and immediately recognized it as Mando’s theme, but then the music interlaced with the Book of Boba Fett’s theme and I thought that perhaps Mando’s theme had been used previously in this show, wrote it off and forgot about it. Seeing this article also drawing attention to Mando’s theme in the episode confirm…
Thank you. The author calling all the value he received from the sale of his shares a “windfall” also bothered me. Activision’s stock price hovered around $90/share for much of the first half of last year, before starting a dip last August to the $80s, to the $70s last September and bottoming out in the low $60s/high…
I wonder if the difference in “stickiness” between the near-side and far-side of the moon has to do with the extra light the near-side receives. The near-side is never without light (lit either by the sun when behind the Earth or by the sunlight reflected off the Earth when between the Sun and the Earth), while the…
As was pointed out to me in a recent article (or lets be real, Youtube video) on the subject of lab grown meat, lab grown meat won’t require all the hormones or antibiotics that are pumped into factory farmed meat. This alone makes lab grown meat worth it (not to mention all the other positive considerations [lack of…
Well it’s not like kfc gives a **** about family togetherness.
Right, that’s exactly how Blofeld died. Madeleine was infected. She touched Bond, which infected him and he touched Blofeld, which killed him. Q confirmed this in the next scene when he told Bond that Bond was luck that he and Blofeld were only step-brothers, or Bond would have died when Madeleine touched him.
With Amazon’s impending acquisition of MGM, I wouldn’t be surprised if they give Bond the franchise treatment to increase their Amazon Prime library.
Saying there was no continuity was wrong, but there was very little continuity. The Connery movies were slightly connected. The Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan movies had virtually no continuity, other than the rare call back, such as Moore laying the flowers (note that there was no mention of what had happened in…
Yup, personally I wouldn’t have killed the character. Just would have written him out of season 6…say he was injured and is recovering on Mars. Then just recast the character if they ever end up adapting the last 3 books. The time jump is a perfect cover to replace him (or any other actors that don’t return).
We’ll, given that Rama will be Villeneuve and Alcon’s second film together, I think they should follow it up with Villeneuve adapting a sequel trilogy to a certain TV series Alcon’s produced the last 6 years that is ending with 3 books still needing to be adapted…The Expanse.
Thanks, and FYI, if you finish season 6 and are interested in how it ends, you can pick up and begin reading with book 7 if you don’t want to read books 1-6.
On the Expanse, they’re not even attempting to wrap everything up. There are 9 books and this “final” season is adapting the 6th book. Amazon told the producers the 6th would be the final season after filming on season 5 finished. They were laying the foundation for the story in the final 3 books throughout season 5.…
They shouldn’t, unless they expect to leave hungry.
