I wasn't implying that my phone was better than somebody else's, but that this generation was the first time I hadn't cracked the screen. Technically, the 4s is better than the 4. Though, it's very likely that the glass in the 4S is the same as the 4.

By "what's in store" I wasn't specifically referring to this article. I just said that iPhone users would be interested in reading what's in store. Obviously, no article about an unreleased Apple product can definitively say what's in store. I take from this article that I can expect the iPhone to one day have HDR

The 4S is my first iPhone who's screen didn't shatter, and it seems to take harder beatings than the last 4 generations.

True, but I think the magnitude is probably greater for iPhone users. Other smartphones can't touch the iPhone's blockbuster releases. I think Josh's point is that more people think about selling their previous iPhone, to get the next generation upon release, than people who own other smartphones. Also, I'd say

The Messages app on the iPhone differentiates SMS and iMessage using different colored text bubbles. Thus, SMS is assumed to be unsecured, and iMessage secured.

I didn't say "what's in stores," but "what's in store," as in what's coming. I didn't take the headline to mean only the iPhone will have it, but the iPhone, for example, will have the sensor.

It doesn't piss me off. They happen to provide the camera for the next iPhone, and if there's a phone to mention, it's the iPhone. Given that the latest iPhone is consistently the top selling smartphone across most carriers, it makes sense that more people would care to read about what's in store.

Yeah, the articles with videos use either vimeo or youtube, which are both HTML5. Sometimes the sponsored articles have little Flash ads at the top, but I don't mind losing those.

Does it matter for them to have exclusive content? Pretty much everything any of the major tech companies do, the others have the technology to replicate. I don't see a reason to hold it against Apple that they're putting the work in to advance how we receive content to our televisions.

Pretty sure that's what I said. "...there's not much drama there."

In any case, Windows is competing with companies that use their OS now. Apple's decision created no conflict of interest, unlike the Surface. Shouldn't be a problem though, as long as OEMs feel they can still compete against Microsoft. Google's partnered to create hardware for their OS, and there's not much drama

Oh ok, so you're calling all 4G that's available from any carrier fake 4G? That's understandable, but, yeah, confusing. It's widely accepted that WiMax and LTE can be considered 4G. The carriers will ostensibly brand real 4G as 5G. The carriers need to justify the investment in the new standard by marketing it as

I think this is what consumers want, but it'd be a risky proposition. Say people do pay per channel, no matter how you look at it the cable companies and content providers make less money. They'd lose all the money that comes with charging consumers for channels they don't want. The only way this would work is to

Maybe, but the bigger picture is that subscribers would be paying less with a la carte. And a lot of channels would die without viewers, which leads to less opportunity to make money from advertising. I think that if the channels come with OnDemand then we'd have something worth exploring. People will then be able

Its a pain for like 1 sec of disappointment that I have to bust out Skyfire. Its just one step to me. When you copy the URL, it already appears in Skyfire. And if I'm on a flash video site, I just stay in Skyfire. In anycase, app-switching isn't much of a pain on the iPad now that you don't need to touch the home

I'm a pretty heavy browser user, and it's a rarity for me to run into the antiquated Flash sites. Seems like a bad business decision not to support Html5, with all the mobile devices used to browse the internet now.

CNN app.

I'm reading this from my iPad right now. Doesn't feel like I'm missing anything, except for the Flash ads.

Likewise. But I agree that some of the new videos uploaded to YouTube sometimes aren't supported without Flash. Luckily, that's what the Skyfire browser is for. Though most porn sites have made the transition, for the ones that don't, Skyfire quickly converts them.
