It has less good episodes, but yeah, I don't think it ever had a bad episode. I think even Prison Break-In is funnier than just about any other sitcom on its best days, barring a select few.

There was no better day. The ratings for the show were anemic, and Fox had to burn them off in the most profitable manner possible. As it was likely more profitable to air COPS or whatever on Saturdays, putting the show up against the Olympics was a good business decision.

I don't think your first two examples were conservative humor (which may be an oxymoron), but rather mocking fakeness, which is a continuing theme of the show.

The set dressing joke remains one of my favorites in the series. I love how mechanically Tobias and George Michael open the cabinets so we can get a clear view of how barren they are. Plus, the added ludicrousness in that the show has shown the inside of the cabinets before, and they actually did have props. They…

I knew they were on because from the first moment I watched this show in season 1, I was obsessed with keeping up with its schedule. I think I was counting down the days until the epic four-episode finale for like a month or so.

Now I want actual non-canon seasons of the show akin to terrible Star Wars expanded universe comics.

It's not even a direct ripoff. The context is obviously different. Plus, repeating disastrous situations like that guidelines speech fits the whole theme of the show, arrested development.

The Bluth employees are such a sad bunch.

Was this comment a meta satire on really anal internet critcisms? Most of what you're complaining about amounts to "Simpsons did it!", which, while true in most cases, is impossible to avoid because The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, and American Dad have approximately 50 seasons of television between them.

So polite.

American Dad has had a few cutaways before, but they're rare.
