Bingo. Have you seen the radiator in the new Titan diesels? The core is probably 3x4ft, if not bigger. Not thick at all, but thick doesn’t help cooling.
My crew cab dually spends a lot of time just being daily driven but is also capable of towing a 50ft triple axle trailer. Why not get more use out of it than just on the weekends or during vacation? Seems a bit pointless to let it sit, though it does that enough thanks to having more vehicles than drivers in our house.
You’re welcome, to be honest I didn’t know the difference either until a few years ago when I did a wiki walk that ended up on compression/jake brakes. Fascinating stuff.
Everyone I know that has a 1+ ton truck tows a boat, travel trailer, 5th wheel or a uses it to haul payload. I had an F-150 that I towed a 35 ft travel trailer with.
I’ve seen lots of sedans and wagons towing things like campers, <20ft cargo trailers and even a few cars (both dolly and full trailer) in pictures/video from other countries. Take Mighty Car Mods for example where super gramps tows the mad max build to the dirt track on a flatbed trailer. I actually saw it first hand…
In other countries - like the UK, for instance - the highway speed limit for towing is often very low and rigidly enforced. The UK also allows significantly less tongue weight for towing vehicles. These differences are why smaller tow vehicles and higher trailer weight limits for those smaller tow vehicles are allowed…
With the gear reduction you simply don’t have the traction to put that much torque down if the first 2 and maybe 3 gears. You “need” that full torque when you’re at highway speeds pulling a load up a grade.
This is a simple 13 speed, one lever replaced the high lo range selector, one replaced the splitter, one for the main box. Pretty stupid imo. Made something simple way to complicated. Start watching at 5:15 mark and it starts to make sense.
To give you guys an idea of what kind of blind spot you get from a MODERN sloped hood truck with a factory blind spot mirror installed. From my seating position you can clearly see a big Kia just disappeared and it's 2 feet away from the front of the truck.
Wow! Looks awesome!
We will not have your brand of non sensationalist journalism here sir.
That’s what Tesla markets as “Autopilot” is it not. It is not a true Autopilot by any means and they says that, but it is what they market as “Autopilot”.
Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing to blame on Tesla, here, just saying.
It’s an official report from a government agency. They probably don’t want to use a branding/marketing term to describe a collision. These features added together are what amounts to AutoPilot. Though I’ve never driven a Tesla, so I could be wrong.
agreed! Tesla hasn’t said AutoPilot wasn’t engaged, and the drive was pretty techie which is why I was leaning that way.
I SASed my truck when it was my only vehicle! :)
What happens when you want to move up in a union shop, but you/your talents don’t fit into the predefined pay structure they’ve negotiated? Or what happens when it starts bumping up against older tenured employees?
