It's got torsion bars on the front, right? I think so, my dad has a 96. I bet someone makes lift keys to crank those torsion bars a little bit more and give you an extra couple of inches. I wouldn't put a solid front axle on it then you've got bump steer, and looser recirculating ball steering.
If you're using it to tow it'd be worse lifted anyway.

Displacement vs. aspiration. All of these turbo trucks get great gas mileage unloaded, but as soon as you put a load on them, they drink far more fuel than the truck that puts out good power always.
