Why on gof’s green earth would I sell a perfectly functional and capable truck?

They are torsion bar and I’ve thought about getting different keys but I’m not certain of any negative side effects of putting that extra twist on the bars

The 2nd gen is much more flexible in tire sizes. 31s will rub on a 1st gen without a lift

I’ll take a look. I know there’s a lot of difference between the 1st and 2nd gens suspension wise, but if frame changes are minimal...

My primary issue is that the standard tire size is really freakin’ small (235 75/15 and in order to get anything nicer I have to bring it up an inch or so in the front for clearance. I don’t want a nasty lift like this F-350 but something - anything would be nice.

Yup, it’s just finding the right axle - or set of axles - to work with. I don’t want to go Dana 20 or whatever that the Cherokee had; I’d like to get some 44s

Yup. 230 hp isn’t anything to write home about but this sub-two-ton truck puts 300 torques to the ground at around 3,000 RPM. It’s not fast but it tows with ease :)

Seriously considering this.

It’s a Hi-Lo; it’s barely as tall as the truck.

Yeah but look what you started

Not once did I say it didn’t have enough power to handle the trailer. They put out quite enough power to handle the trailer when you’re leaning on the pedal; they drink heavily though; guess what - 10 to 12 MPG towing with the EcoBoost is the norm. I didn’t say it didn’t have the power, I said he got poor economy and

Oh it can handle it, but you feel it bad. Our neighbor was nice enough to get the camper for us as our Dakota was stuck behind some full bagsters and unable to leave the driveway. He made sure we knew that he could feel the 24-foot Hi-Lo much more than his 19-foot standard camper, and that he got about 11 MPG highway.

Keep making me want one of these. Please

Nice attempt there.

This is great and all, but how the hell do I do this on an IFS-equipped 1995 Dodge Dakota???

205 hp was a godsend in the nineties, particularly for a V6! Mustangs were only pumping out 215 hp at that time; c’mon.

What if I take out a home equity loan to buy a vintage Ferrari?

It’s pretty awesome, isn’t it? My house has jumped 62% since 2013. We were talking about selling, but I think we’re just going to rent it out. It can pay its own mortgage and half of the next house as well!

You can leave it anywhere without feeling bad :)
