The interior looks great with some color contrast. I prefer it to the black monochromatic cabin.

I have not. It was mega.

I prefer the front end and headlights of the original EfficientDynamics Concept unveiled at Frankfurt 2009.

You, sir, have amazing taste.

Congratulations! This is very exciting for you (and me by extension).

The two of us can agree that those people are morons. I've always like the Genesis coupe and sedan. I've always rooted for Hyundai. And it seems like the second generation will be better than ever. I found the Genesis Coupe appealing because you could get a lot of power, a manual, a quality cabin, and a sporty

"AMG Sport," "AMG Sport Plus," "Engineered by AMG," and "AMG Line" trims have existed in Europe for years. Years! They're nothing new. Some of them had virtually no engineering input from AMG, but nonetheless bore its name and bodykits. What's new is that Mercedes is replacing all of these trims with one more credibly

Hood looks like the most interesting, attractive part of the design.

Conservative. Conventional.

As soon as I saw the Continental, I knew I liked it more than the CT6. These pictures confirm that.

But as Mercedes sales figures show, there has been no disruption. S-Class sales are better than ever. As you already laid out, the S-Class sells more units than its two chief rivals combined. And the A8 and 7-series are both cheaper than the S-Class in all global markets. And not every member of the S family is yet

We should first establish that Cadillacs are now priced far more closely to the German competition than ever before. They're only significantly cheaper when dealers can't sell any and give them away to the closest hobo with a credit history.

Thanks for the article. It's really great, and articulates many of the issues the brand faces.

Also, the A7 and its derivates are 1,000x more beautiful than the CT6. From what we've seen, it's a conventional, conservative sedan that looks like a larger CTS. Not exactly going to be a design icon.

Younger looking cars. You hit the nail on the head.

Thank you so much for writing this. I really appreciate your perspective.

Well, to take an example, not everyone finds Cadillac design as 'striking' as you do. Personally, I dislike the Art & Science design language. I think it glorifies the era of fintails and usually comes across as brutal and heavy-handed. I don't dislike angular design in general. I think Lamborghinis are beautiful. But

So much wishful thinking here. But here's what — we'll all read the sales figures together on this site about a year from now and watch what happens.

Tesla built about 35,000 Model S units last year. In the last year, Mercedes has sold almost 100,000 units of the new S-Class.

"I've said BMW, Merc, and Audi are grossly underestimating the long term loss of cache/prestige in their enthusiast brands with BMW M-Sport, AMG-Sport, Audi S-Line"
