Both great cars. Both good to drive. Since you need an auto, VW's DSG is a point in the GTI's favor. A desire for occasional practicality is a point in the GTI's favor.

Sounds shocking — comically far into the future. But it's not.
So bizarre how everyone is forgetting Mercedes builds vans, trucks, buses, and military vehicles. In that context, how, exactly, is a pickup crazy?
This is actually really good-looking. Why doesn't the new GLE have this same front clip?
Actually, that's a contentious issue. The DB9 was almost complete and the Vantage was in development when Ian Callum left Aston. Callum maintains that the DB9 is his design, and most people say the Vantage — which is usually credited to Fisker — is an amalgam of Callum and Fisker influence.
I'd think so.
"y'know, the fucking thing is sitting on Vanquish running gear."
Yes. Next question.
Could be $150,000 in the US. We won't know until they officially price it, but they're said to be keen to be competitive against Porsche.
The British mags are all saying it'll be priced from 140,000 pounds — same as the 911 Turbo S. In the US and other markets, it'll either be priced against the 911 Turbo or Turbo S.
No. Autocar has reported it will have a simplified suspension to decrease costs.

The Puma is the worst thing I've ever seen.
That's not a sunroof. It's a glass panel. It's obvious from this picture that it cannot retract. Also, it's perplexing that they couldn't make it a full length panoramic roof. It's not impossible, and exists elsewhere in the class.
That interior would not look out of place in a $35,000 mass-market vehicle.
I like glass roofs too, but Jaguar isn't very good at making them. I can already tell that this is a fixed panel. It doesn't move. That may work in the F-Type sports car, but they don't really have an excuse in this class. Mercedes has been building sedans with full-length panoramic roofs and retractable front panels…
