I am so, so sorry, about all of it. You shouldn’t have been blindsided by anybody, at a party celebrating independence, no less. I’m the lone Hillary supporter in the family I married into, and we no longer discuss certain things when we are around one another. It is EXHAUSTING.

I know this probably doesn’t help, but people like that are deeply unhappy. That’s why they lash out. They have little to no autonomy in their own lives and instead of trying to help make their situation better, they’ve been taught that it’s easier to drag others down to their misery.
