I lived in West Texas for a few years and have been cycling for 30 years plus and I’ve only ever been attacked or threatened in Texas. I saw some serious anti bike there for reasons i can’t fathom

Nearly everyone else in Texas is armed, so might as well. Hell, they’re going to make open carry of machine guns legal if they can.
As someone who plans on transitioning to a fully electric vehicle within the next year or two, I find it hard to justify larger and heavier vehicles like the R1S, Hummer EV, and others since they so damn heavy. If you look at the efficiency ratings (MPGe), a Model X (102) is twice as efficient as a Hummer (47) and the…
Can’t say I agree with the title. For one, what are these going to be like to own in 10 years, let alone 25. The appeal of the Land Cruiser is part stealth wealth and part durable goods. This hits on the stealth wealth, but it’s a brand new product from a brand new company with zero track record. It might be the most…
Fuck Texas. Fuck cops. Fuck that Jeep guy. Charges should be more serious than a misdemeanor. He could have killed the cyclist. No, you don’t fucking joke around like that.
Interestingly, I think the Rivian folks are both. Some of the people I talked to were all eager to discuss OTA updates, and were genuinely looking for feedback about pros and cons of the car to address in future releases -- even features to add. Others on the crew couldn’t wait to talk about their Jeeps or Lexus GXes…
Agreed, direct match for a RR.
Going back to the story of Polestar yesterday and how “molest the eyes” comment.
Good write up. biggest takeaway from it was this:
There is gold duster that is someone’s everyday driver that lives on my block. I envy him.
1000 a month. On a five year loan. That is just dumb. If you make enough money that 1k a month is no big deal...then put it aside to just not have to pay the interest.
What’s even crazier, is that a third of the workforce does not make $100k +. It’s about half that which makes this even sadder.
The reason people ditch cars that have life left in them, is that it’s easier to make a $500/mo. car payment, for a car that probably has a warranty and likely less to go wrong mechanically, than come up with that $3,500 and be down a vehicle for the duration of the repair.
I’m in the fix-it-until-it-can’t-be-fixed-no-more camp. Having grown up in a family of auto mechanics, I am used to the treadmill of “buy an old car with some life left in it, repair it until something major breaks, then dump it and start the process again.” When I was young, we never spent time or money on stereos…
My immediate family has owned quite a few Nissans and infinitis. Not sure why the brands get so much hate on here. They've been extremely reliable vehicles. Also are very easy to service.
Lol. So you’re saying the Colorado isn’t worth it’s namesake. Ironic.
This. I owned an ‘09 Pro4X and it was a great truck. Truck brand loyalty isn’t a thing to me and have owned a loaded F-150 EcoBoost, A GMC All Terrain, the Titan, and currently daily a 2009 Frontier with 200K miles and going strong. The Titan compared favorably with the rest, without the premium (though the power of…
we’re all about good surprises
Well played.
it cant tow a boat either... it’s useless. nobody should buy a car that cant tow a boat and fit a family of 9.
