There’s something profoundly ironic about naming a vehicle getting fuel economy in the low teens after the one of the oldest and largest life forms being destroyed by climate change.

Traditionally, a long dash-to-axle has been a consequence of mounting an engine longitudinally in the front of a car. It has almost never been for style alone. People often associate this design trait with sport / luxury cars because they tend to be FR-based with longitudinal engines.

When I was a kid, the first time we (my friends) saw a pick up with fancy rims and exhaust, we made the joke, “race trucks” because it was such an absurdity.

Neither are trucks for doing truck things. Small beds, huge liftover heights, crappy towing. You want offroad? Polaris, Yamaha, Honda and others have dedicated vehicles faster and more fun. This TRX and the Raptors are BroDozers daddy can just write a check for.

It cost me $163 to fill it from nearly empty. I almost cried.”

Yes, that’s quite the TPCV—tiny penis compensation vehicle.

as far as i can tell theyre still planning on releasing the silverado EV at 40k with a 200Kw battery.  they must have amazing pricing on their batteries or theyre taking a big loss to get market share.  nothing ive seen so far shows they have another pack planned.  ive seen the smaller pack for the hummer ev but

Considering that petroleum fuelled vehicles are basically always on fire (there were over 200,000 car fires in the USA in 2018), the couple dozen Bolt fires are being blown WAY out of proportion.

Maybe they’ll have a fire sale?

They’ve determined the cause and a fix and LG is paying for it.

Ha!  She usually comes around.  I also like the Polestar 2.  I just want a cool EV.  I’ll find something we both like.

Rivians are so cool!  I’ve only seen one on the streets here in Washington.  But it was really cool.  It was on my list until my wife said “I’m sorry... that thing looks ridiculous!”  She wasn’t a fan of the vertical headlights.  Ha ha!  Maybe she’ll come around...

I just saw one of those as well, and it looks way better in person than in the pictures I had seen. Although the overlanding setup makes me laugh.

Depends how soon they actually need the car, I suppose. Fun pick though.

The proper response to this is actually a Lexus RX350 hybrid. If you don’t care about driving dynamics -- as somebody who hasn’t driven in 9 years almost certainly doesn’t -- there’s no more comfortable car with plenty of space and every conceivable type of driver assist. I didn’t want to like my wife’s RX350, but

Check my update. Thanks.

Insecure Dick Wagging is the name of my uuuuuhhhh Django Reinhardt/EDM cover band. Yeah. You should hear our version of Sandstorm.

If I was under 40 and in great shape, I might consider a Tacoma. Being north of 50, I prefer the comfort, ergonomics, larger bed and payload of my Ridgeline.
