>This thing will be embarrassed by mommy mobiles.

I agree with most of what you said, except for this part. Most mommy mobiles are very heavy, so the GR Corolla will still have an edge. Too many people only look at HP numbers and forget to account for how much mass you’re lugging around.

Hi... Vancouver based claims person here.

thanks!  was my wife’s dream car

$60k plus for a Wrangler? My high-end photography habit now seems completely rational...

one edit suggested: it was not a Gladiator, but a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon.

Imagine getting hit by 3 high speed Lambos simultaneously. 9000lbs x 3 sec 0-60? That’s one of these things accelerating into a crash.

I walked and took transit to school by myself as a child (in a big city) and travelled alone, including flying in my teens. Apparently my parents were MONSTERS!!!! I got sooo kidnapped, molested, etc. It was fun!

much appreciated!

Unlikely, unless you want L3 charging capability at home. L2 charging (208-240 volts, 40 amps) is probably more than enough for charging at home; which would be overnight charging most of the time. Level 2 will give you about 32 miles of range per hour of charge.

He writes for Jalopnik and evidently has a driver’s license - so I figure he’s 16.

I’m actually 13

He’s 25 and has spent the first couple of years out of school in the COVID world so it’s not unreasonable. I say this as someone who loves to travel where it’s always hard for me to imagine how some people don’t want to.

Wait, this is sarcasm, right? Subaru getting praise for their interiors?

I wish more EVs would lower the power and up the range. Nobody *needs* sub 7 sec 0-6.

The notion that for something not billed as sporty 7 seconds to 60 is slow is beyond me.

Snow shoes might come in handy.

Agreed - we are spoilt in our belief that 7 sec is a mediocre 0-60 time.   I learned to drive on a mid 80s GM 2.8L that claimed a 0-60 of 14.1....and would only achieve that with a strong tailwind and a downhill trajectory.  I’ll take 7 seconds and lower cost/complexity @ sub $40k after incentives for a well packaged

I mean, most people have to go from a sidestreet to a 40+mph street everyday, and yet where is the call for massive HP in ICE cars for this maneuver?

I’m not “beating up” anyone. I have a job to do if you don’t like that job you don’t have to cooperate. No one forces anyone to do anything in this business.

I get it. Just letting the folks know the potential repercussions.
