This is cool as hell and since its been quite a while since i spent time in NL a lot of this bike infrastructure will be all new to me. Looking forward to checking it out.

Cyclists are tough and crazy! I regularly do long hard days on my feet in the mountains and desert and, yet, i have always been a mediocre cyclist. I use my bike to just slowly pedal to the post office or brewery and probably never pedal for more than 20 minutes at a time.

ha! I mean i hear ya but ebikes really are wonderful for all sorts of situations and ppl. Where i live is rural and MAGA as hell but lots of olds are on their ebikes running errands and getting some exercise.

Good points all around.

exactly. Go to Wyoming and see what the coal mines there have done or spend time in Lousiana and see what all the refineries have done, etc a million times.

I mean im a huge tree hugging liberal. I firmly believe that while EVs are the future of cars, cars are not the future.

Damn, this looks pretty sweet.

tbf, it is indeed a really lovely shade of blue.

Tesla is still vastly over valued - this sort of stuff wont help its stock price that is for sure.

I agree w/you

Your ocmments in this thread are helpful/informative, thank you. I have heat pumps at my house here in the desert and theyre great. Makes sense that they would also help EVs in cold areas. I hadnt thought of that and whenever i buy an EV its something to consider as its cold as hell here in the winter.

good one!!!

lol, nice cherry picking of 1972. We were down in the low 30s as recently as the first term of the Obama years. So, weve gone up 30% since then. Not a great trajectory!

You never mentioned towing. you only mentioned long haul driving. I guess youre one of the 1% of ppl who actually tows 5 tons+ or youre just full of it. Why not both!?

fatal crashes are absolutely at or near all time highs. Cite your data since your making the claim theyre not. Or are you parsing ppl actually in vehicles and not outside the vehicles that get run over by vehicles?

Why didnt you just buy a minivan?

I will get a new bit when circumstances change.

This looks cool as a concept but as the article notes its most likely going to be huge and heavy. Cant wait for another 4 ton death machine with supercar acceleration to be on the roads. Good stuff.

Right, makes sense. Would not be surprising at all if the majority of Rivians have been bought in WA/OR/CA/CO

Right.. ive been wanting to ditch my ancient subaru for years now but it just doesnt make sense. I can afford something else/new but i dont want to in this current environment. So, i spent a good bit of cash on repairing the subaru and now it drives pretty damn well again and ill just keep driving it.
