This, specifically, is motivated reasoning of the highest order.

First Gear: this is the saddest news ive read in a long time.

You dont seem to understand anything re: GOP vs Dem divide in this country so good job on sticking your head in the sand.

Huh that is interesting. I'd guess it's just due to so few Black folks living there.

I think this is a fair summation of the current environment and the car in question would fall into your second category if, and this is somewhat key, if the owner has a place to plug it in.

ah, nice job like the other idiot of trying to be clever. First off, white ppl are majority of ppl in every single state that has terrible vaccine uptake percentages. MS is closest but iirc whites are still in hte mid 50% range there and the other “red” states the % of whites in terms of total population go up and up

TBF, the truck did warn the bridge by flying the “oversized load” flag. Perhaps we should blame the bridge?

i mean, maybe? Thats not much range for 50+k. Im not one who is out here yelling about my 500 mile a day commute uphill, both ways, but 210 is pretty measly for that price. But then again in the real world if this is used as a city commuter car 210 is plenty, i guess.

Everyone is going to get delta or hte next variant. Its a matter of if you are vax’d and had decent immune response itll probably be a cold or asymptomatic. Everyone else is taking chances. Delta is more contagious than fucking smallpox for god sakes.

i refuse to click on slideshows but i think there is an ebb and flow to vanlife. A few of my fancy, upper middle class friends are thinking now about a conversion van as it seems more and more likely that covid at pretty high rates is here to stay.

I think you are correct here. It doesnt mean i approve of what acura/honda is doing but i dont see how they are not entitled to do exactly that. The leasee, by defintion, does not own the vehicle.

Im reading this and (stupidly) shocked that anyone, literally anyone, would look to google maps for hikign routes. Directions to the trailhead, sure! What path to take once youre there, hell no!

youre almost there my guy. White men are, what, 30% of the population as a whole in the usa? https://www.visualcapitalist.com/visualizing-u-s-population-by-race/

this is simply wrong. Tons and tons of ppl would be excited as hell to have a brand new Taos in their driveway. Not everyone is a wrencher w/time and skills to work on old pos jalops. And not everyone is rich enough to buy some really sweet car.

Nicely done! I wasnt aware of permeable pavers before reading this and they would really work well with the stuff i want to do in my house as i live in the desert.

this is objectively a much better car than whatever pos Lada you are currently lusting after, or whatever.

good take bro

is it? I think its an incredible time to car about cars. Its really hard to buy a total pos now and that is not what it was like at all when ibought my first car in the 80s. Cars are great..you get fast, you get handling, you get safety, you get towing, you get backcountry ability.

Im not asking for a press release. The Taos would easily be the nicest car ive ever owned going on safety aids and interior so there would be lots of us out there that would take delivery of a Taos and be pretty fucking excited about it.

Got to love Jalopnik - some pos death machine gets reviewed lovingly. Some nice, functional, safe new car gets shit on.
