And Emma Thompson:

Exactly! I can’t help by think “ How? How are you not totally engulfed by the voice of reason?” He just sounds so reasonable and clear-headed all the time, it’s such a pleasure to hear him speak.

White Men Can’t Clap

I don’t generally think of myself as a violence person, but I have this uncontrollable urge to punch that smirky expression off Paul Ryan’s face.

NBC commentators said that Paul Ryan had to “practice his poker face” for tonight. I already want to smack that weird little grin/grimace combo off his face...

Obama recently did an interview with NPR where he talked about the fact that all the candidates (except Lindsey Graham, RIP, you drunk warmongering southern belle) just keep saying we should bomb ISIS “more.” And he quite astutely pointed out that we are already bombing ISIS as much as our intelligence permits -

If your option is sad salad (and nothing at that price point should be sad) or something with a huge supplement, it's extortion

I miss Bruni. I don’t remember the specific review, but he once described a steak as tasty but, “at this price it’s practically a contractual obligation.” I still reference this concept frequently years after the original review..

my favorite is a review of Sushi of Gari where the person essentially bitches about not being able to control what they were served when they asked for the omakase (sp?), which is literally ordering “chef’s choice”

How the fuck did noted sweetheart/pretentious douchebag Keller manage to piss off noted sycophant Pete Wells? Like, THIS much?

This is like how there’s nothing better than reading bad Yelp reviews of very good restaurants. My favorite was a review of Sushi Nakazawa, a NYC sushi bar run by one of Jiro Ono’s apprentices (the guy in the documentary who cries over properly making egg custard). Paraphrasing, the yelp review for Sushi Nakazawa said

Honestly I always bring my lunch but my problem has always been that I have nowhere to eat it. I think that comments like yours, though, indicate a culturally American mentality we all seem to suffer from, namely “what’s good for you isn’t good for me.” Instead of applauding workers that try and stand up for their

Your life is not everyone’s life. This is not a universal solution.

Well, his face IS slightly less punchable than Cruz’s so that’s good at least. And while I still think all of his viewpoints are terrible, they seem more of the regular GOP terrible than fascist crazy talk like Trump. Still wouldn’t vote for him even if someone had a gun to my vag but good for him being the less awful

This is why whenever I need to get some food, I just go to the supermarket and hang out by the checkout. I get to be in close proximity to people who have food, which is the same as having it, yourself.

The solution to disproportionate responses by the government to persons of color is not to call for disproportionate responses by the government to white people. It’s to stop disproportionate responses against persons of color.

Listen, the very notion that they’re genuinely “doing” anything is flattering to them. If they were serious about some sort of insurrection against government, they could—would—have picked virtually any other building in North America to start it. They don’t want a fight. They want to get interviewed on Fox News.

Hey Jezebellians,

How much money do we want to bet that Trump thinks ladies pee out of their bajingos?
