No. this is clearly an intimidation tactic used by the North Dakota government because they did not do due process in vetting the project and just approved it. Furthermore the pipeline people had ignored a court injunction and had begun to plow through evidence that the sacred stone tribe identified in court.

In ND, you have to notify people that they can’t be there in order for it to qualify as trespassing. It makes the oil company look particularly stupid and entitled because they didn’t even post signs. Those pre-made “NO TRESPASSING” and “BEWARE OF DOG” signs are legal coverage. They’re not just to scare people.

Guys I ended up moving to ND a month ago and even though I’m not super close to the protest there were protesters stopping at our small gas station a few weeks back to get water.
I really hate how ‘red’ ND is. It’s so frustrating.
