I read somewhere that most American voters who say they’re undecided aren’t, and that it’s a kind of peculiarity of our system. I feel like that was Nate Silver, but I don’t remember for sure, and it was at the last presidential, so, you know, good luck on my ever finding that stat.

Also can fact checking return to the debates? I will never understand how Americans are okay with candidates blatantly lying and not caring about whether the information they get is the truth or not. Don’t you want to know the truth? Or whether a candidate is lying to you? Why are you guys happy to be fooled?

It’s similar to how so many self-described independents actually have strong political leanings — usually conservative. But they get off on pretending they’re open-minded clear thinkers, unlike all those brainwashed sheeple that join the party that most closely aligns with their political opinions.

Also, like...are you usually a Democrat or usually a Republican? Do you have any idea what the Democratic platform is and what they stand for, or what Republicans stand for? And do you agree with most of those things? It seems so simple and obvious to me, so I truly can’t understand or believe these people.

I ask my father how he would react to any man speaking to his wife or daughter like Trump does. I ask him if he honestly believes my mother would stay with him or his children would respect him if he was even half as awful.

She’s also pretty racist and says homophobic things about her brother, whom she otherwise adores and who was closeted until he was 50 because he was so worried about his family’s reaction. Unclear why she doesn’t support Trump, actually.
