Same here. I stuck with the grocery store for 7 years (14-21). What kills me now is the baggers these days only put a couple of things in each bag. Back in my day, we aimed for about 10 lbs in each bag. People must be wusses now.
Lower crime totally depends - especially per capita. At least where my wife grew up, everyone knows everyone's business and that barn of yours will get broken into even if it's locked.

True hollandaise is pretty much egg yolks, butter, lemon juice and chefs will fight to the death for how much salt, worcestershire and tabasco belong in it.
