FWIW at least in the US, McDonald's is using old dairy cows for most of it's meat. If anything, they provide an outlet for it. Not sure about other countries though.
Oddly enough I run better after eating McDonald's. While training for a marathon I wanna say it was a 15 mile run right after a big mac and fries. Another time I struggled to do 5 miles after a bowl of pasta.
