I guess I see the humor in that.
Well done!

Sometimes a kick in the nuts is hilarious.

The problem with this logic is that everyone is thinking the same thing. The only things that end up being worth a lot are the things no one thinks to save.

"Canadian Sears stories" ? I think you mean "stores"
Katie, I hope they don't fire you over this blunder. Maybe you'll just get some unpaid leave.

You can right click and choose 'open in private window' or 'incongnito' depending on your browser.

Yeah, basically, all the ex's and family were there who were alive.

Hanukkah party at my mom's. These parties are kind of strange. My dad, his wife, her son and family, my mom's current boyfriend, and my step sister and family from my mom's deceased second husband were all there. I suppose it's good we all get along.

*old lady voice* One time the bag wasn't double bagged and it broke. I like the handles of plastic, it's easier to carry, but I like paper because I don't want plastic touching my food.

Back in my day we had "Think 10" which meant 10 items or 10 pounds. Apparently people are wusses now.
We also tried to keep frozen together and fragile on top.

Wow, this is so spot on in so many ways!

Even when the customer is wrong, apparently the customer is always right.

What's worse is when the check book is in their purse in their bigger purse and they don't decide to do anything about writing the check until they get the total.
I stopped caring about that when I realized I wasn't on commission and it didn't matter if they took their sweet time. The people behind in line would care,

The one out by me (Chicago area) has gone down hill unfortunately. It's great for buying computer parts, but it seems everything else is a disaster. I was looking at GPS's and the display had 2 things and a bunch of cords with nothing attached.

I still remember the freakin' produce codes. Carombola/Starfruit - 4256. Bananas 4011. In the 90's in the US at least, they went to a universal produce code system, so all the grocery stores are on the same numbers.

My problem with the self checkout lanes is they are slow to scan. It makes you scan, then put it on the bag scale thing. Then you can grab the next thing and scan. From 7 years cashiering, that is just way too slow. That said, I go to whatever line is the shortest regardless if it's self check out or not.

I can still hear the old ladies voices "Double paper inside the plastic, and don't make it too heavy"

This brings back bad memories of highschool and college working at a grocery store for way too long.

I was hoping for a happier ending. Oh well, such as life.
