Say the word and you'll be free
Say the word and be like me
Say the word I'm thinking of
Have you heard the word is love?
It's so fine, it's sunshine
It's the word, love
Say the word and you'll be free
Say the word and be like me
Say the word I'm thinking of
Have you heard the word is love?
It's so fine, it's sunshine
It's the word, love
Hear, hear!
This kind of sound a lot like what happens to Mutt Williams in Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, when at the end, he accepts who he really is and stops being a greaser based on Marlon Brando's character in The Wild Ones.
My thoughts exactly.
Hey, I'm only repeating what I read someplace else, that they did at least have combs and did take care of their hair. If I'm wrong, I apologize.
By all accounts, the live production (which is on home video) was quite good, and might be the clean version.)
I wonder if parents know about two numbers from the original stage version of Grease; the one about mooning and the nasty version of the Rydell High song that's sung as a counterpoint to the latter by the T-Birds?
Obviously said parents have never heard of Hair or Old Calcutta, which predate Rent by a few years.
Pardon my asking, but was it the original movie or the recent live TV production?
I love this idea better than the idea mentioned above in the article-it would make a great sideways history book or TV show, or even a movie.
Making history safe is stupid and a foolish thing, sir. We have to face the nastiness of the past head on, and avoid this sound, as I said, like the silly codes that they had governing movies and TV in the past.
Or create a show dealing with all of the radical left-wing politics that were happening in the USA before, during, and shortly after World War I. I'd love to see a depiction of the Comstock riots, the infamous Sacco & Vanzetti case (the Ethel & Julius Rosenberg case of its day), what Emma Goldman was up to, and a…
With Joss Whedon as showrunner and writer? It would still be a great show, give me a fracking break. Just tale a look at Agents of SHIELD.
When inserting a link at this site, I find it helps if you use the boldface (/) so that the word can show up.
Hasn't Philadelphia been derided as 'The City of Brotherly Shove' due to its racism? I seem to remember an America woman living here in Toronto saying that to me.
The core problem that the South remained a white supremacist society…and the North was sufficiently racist that it ultimately was more willing to work with Southern Whites than Southern Blacks wasn't a problem that could have been solved by one firing squad, or a thousand.
Semi-socialist and secular or not, living under anything like Soviet Russia isn't good for anybody (and at least Israel had to be like that in order to survive without many native industries to call on.)
Quantum Leap was amazing (and what the frak are you smoking?)
As a Trekfan, with a few exceptions (A Piece Of The Action, Patterns of Force) those episodes are bullcrap (Bread & Circuses is barely tolerable, at best) and should be disregarded, as should Miri, which was just inexcusable, improbable and creepy.
I've read Bring The Jubilee, and yes indeed, it is a great story.
