Pre-Covid I was looking at these but the maintenance cost was the killer. You could get a vette, ZL1 etc for the same price and not have to worry about a $1000 oil change.

You’re right on most points but shockingly wrong on one. The Maverick FWD hybrid- which was the base engine- was so damn popular that it constituted over 70% of custom orders and forced Ford to close order books in weeks. Basically, Ford believe as you apparently do, that people would spit upon any truck that wasn’t…
Yeah, the constant shitting on Toyota for their focus on HEV/PHEVs instead of a fleet of EVs baffles me. DISCLAIMER: I own a Lexus HEV.
Each of the Big 3 is in a different position on Hybrids.
Ford builds a few. The hybrid Maverick still has about a 1 year wait list. No wait on the Hybrid Escape, but Ford really beat that one with the ugly stick on the last redesign.
Because the EV market got saturated quickly and demand was met multiple times over. But somehow, people didn’t see that coming because Tesla was the only game in town and their sales/production ramp was pretty crazy. Almost like all the business folks at all the other OEM’s forgot business 101 from a supply/demand…
When a dealer keeps a car as a loaner and then sells it, can’t they still sell it as new with warranty? I thought that was the norm for multi-year old cars or discontinued models that get sold “new” later on, typically at a huge discount. It’s like getting an off-lease car with new car warranty/rates.
I can see a dump truck costing $75k, that's still crazy for a used Silverado
Saying any Ford Twin I-Beam truck “rides like a car” is a huge stretch of the imagination and truth.
Ford of 1970 sees your flailing cowboy mannikin and raises you land mines.
Honestly that’d be a hell of a flex.
Probably not much more expensive than to actually live in Tahoe
Or how about a Jeep Grand Wagoneer STARTING at $92,540?!?
I thought an Escalade was silly at $90k+; but now that I know a Tahoe is an $80k affair, I guess the Cadillac doesn’t seem too bad…
Seriously. People have gone bananas. A Tahoe is about as mid as it gets.
Nah, Diesel. You can run an old diesel on just about anything combustable. In WW2, in Europe, they even converted some of them to run on homemade wood gas, and you can, if you really have to, even convert an ICE vehicle to electric. You can’t really do the reverse.
I feel like the Tahoe (and Suburban) have increased in price considerably starting with the GMT900 or immediately before that release.
Right!?!? I just built a crewcab AT4 on their website, adding everything I quickly could to get the price up, and it was literally $79k.
Her husband financed $78k for a 2 year old truck? I can’t tell if this is rage bait, or I’m just this out of touch with the general population.
This is why you need to hug your kids so they don’t grow up, make stupid decisions in their life and then feel the need to brag about it publicly.
