2 seat roadsters. It seems like an absolute no-brainer to make a small electric skateboard platform for small cabins so that people can commute around in a vehicle that should still get decent range even with a smaller battery because it’s small and lightweight.
The average age of cars on the road will not be 12 years in 2035. Pretty soon -- within the next 5 years -- banks are going to stop offering loans on new ICE cars. Gasoline stations are going to start closing. Parts suppliers are going to start closing up shop. And ICE cars are going to start becoming as useless as…
Ok, but, like, compare it to private jets. There’s a market for jet fuel refining and distribution through airports. In 2040 how are you going to be able to get gasoline? Have it shipped to your house one 40-gallon drum at a time? Who’s going to be supporting the petroleum refining necessary to sustain that as a…
Where are you going to find a gas station when all of the cars on the road electric? Why would petroleum companies continue to refine consumer gasoline?
Hybrids won’t be viable because gasoline supply won’t be a thing. Paris has already shown that it’s feasible to implement relatively strict age limits to force older cars off the road; if they’re ceasing sales of ICE cars by 2035, expect to see the end of gasoline sales in the EU by 2040.
I’ve put 85k miles on my 2015 GT. My suspension probably could use a good once-over since I’ve daily driven it in NYC, but other than that it’s mechanically perfect. These are just great drivers’ cars.
This is a screaming deal and I legitimately cannot understand what people voting ND are thinking.
It’s all about size; LS is easier to fit in a wider range of engine bays than Coyote engines. 2011-2017 Coyote engines are 100% reliable — once they introduced port injection for the 2018 model year there were some minor issues with the fuel injection system but nothing serious. And you can easily tune Coyotes for…
Do you honestly know anybody at all with a household income less than $300k who’s in a position to be shopping for a new car right now? I don’t.
Wheels are your car’s jewelry. They should all be chrome. There should be no non-chrome wheels available outside of steelies on work vans.
Only if you qualify for the $7,500 tax rebate.
I could be wrong but I believe that springing for the navigation option gives you full onboard, offline navigation maps for all of North America?
Getting a new minivan is a $50k proposition these days. Here you get all the utility for 20% of the price. NP.
Is the new Escape hybrid still front-wheel-drive only? Seems like a big tactical error by Ford, but, they did the same thing with the Maverick.
Free transatlantic business class flights are awesome and are relatively easy to get if you’re willing to game the AmEx points system in the proper ways.
Natural gas is already vastly cheaper than petroleum to use as an electricity source. And the electrical grid is going to need to be ramped up worldwide; I’m sure that nuclear power is going to be a big part of it, in addition to solar and natural gas and hydroelectric.
Cost of gasoline is going to skyrocket. Petroleum companies are already finding alternative uses for petroleum because they know that demand for gasoline as an automotive fuel is going to decline. No point in maintaining excess refining capacity for a product people use less and less of.
It’s not really a marketing issue. When gasoline/ diesel starts costing $25 or $30 a gallon — which they will in a few years, no question — people aren’t going to have too much of a choice in the matter.
