Honestly this is extremely tempting as a commuter car. Extremely tempting.

Ok but then why did GMC survive when Olds and Pontiac and Saturn and etc. were all killed off?

Really want to see how these do on a rock crawl at Moab.

As somebody whose job includes, partially, marketing, there simply is no more efficient way of targeting advertisements in existence than through Facebook.

See I think these are absolutely awesome and one thing I hope about the coming EV revolution is that coachbuilders can build modern versions of these on electric skateboard chassis.

I’m a big fan of most old cars, even ones that nobody likes. Crosleys? Yeah, I love them. Checkers? All day every day. But the one automotive trend that absolutely aged like milk is tail fins, and there is no worse-looking vintage car than the pinnacle of the trend, the 1959 Cadillac 62 series:

My AC is a bit less efficient than yours; I use about 18 kWh / day in the winter and around 70 kWh / day in the summer. But the big draw for me of bidirectional charging for an EV is that I live in an area that’s a) heavily forested; b) prone to lots of intense storms; and c) runs all of its electric wiring in

For sheer weirdness, I’m going with something that I doubt anybody reading this thread has ever actually seen in operation: the Anzani dual-rotary six cylinder aircraft engine:

I don’t know why Jalopnik is celebrating somebody who so often texts while driving that they earned the nickname “Texter” for it.

NP. These are cool as hell and the window louvers make it beautiful as well. Figure it’ll take another $2k to make it daily drivable and you’ve got a hell of a 3 season commuter for less than $10k here if you slap some winter tires on it.

In a world where people go rock crawling in Lexus LX’s and Range Rovers and Jeep Grand Wagoneers, what makes you think a Kia is too precious to go offroading in?

The RAV4 hybrid uses a different type of AWD technology that, to my knowledge, is only shared with its platform mate, the Lexus NX (along with, I think, the Lexus UX hybrid), and with the new Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid. There is no driveshaft — power to the rear wheels comes entirely from an electric motor.

There was a typo; “spittle” should have been “should” and I’m unclear on why that came out that way from my phone. But there’s nothing at all unnecessary about a Rolls Royce with portal axles.

There may be objectively worse special editions to drive around in, but there is absolutely no worse concept for a special edition than the NFT Corvette:

Seemslike Ukraine spittle have bigger things to worry about right now, but good for them.

... adhesive? You’re mounting your brand new $1000+ micro computer to a speeding motorcycle using... glue? The same stuff that can keep dry macaroni stuck to my kid’s art projects?

What in the world are you talking about? What does gender have to do with anything? This comment makes no sense. I got my COVID vaccine, my booster, and my covalent booster the first day I was eligible for each. Just because you’re vaccinated, it doesn’t mean it’s safe to leave your home. Gender has nothing to do with

I’ve never owned one or driven one, but the only pickup trucks I’ve ever been a passenger in have been single cabs. Having two rows of seats in a pickup seems pointless, and if you can adjust the steering wheel position you really don’t need seat adjustments.

I mean, I very rarely operate a motor vehicle these days, since I can count on both hands with some fingers left over the number of times I’ve left my house since I caught COVID in May (which was the only time since the beginning of the pandemic that I went anywhere indoors around unmasked people).

1,112 Americans died of COVID *yesterday*. How can you possibly say it's no longer a deadly threat? That's saying nothing of the hundreds of millions who will die of heart failure or respiratory failure in 5 or 10 years because of the damage COVID did to their internal organs. I've had 2 COVID shots and 2 boosters,
