His comment on the camera controls also felt a little off to me. Like, the point of the game was that it was giving us a 2D-esque experience within a 3D world, so it makes perfect sense that we’d be given carefully curated camera angles instead of a free-range camera.

I miss the demo days.  Two generations ago just about every game got a demo and it was fantastic.

Sounds like a PS2 shovelware title. They didn’t even put a colon after Immortals for whatever reason.

I’m still sad that they didn’t stick with Gods and Monsters. Immortals Fenyx Rising just doesn’t feel as interesting, or memorable.

Time feels like it’s simultaneously long and short. Like it’s been 27 years since March, but Halloween and the election feels like it was yesterday. How the fuck are we almost at Thanksgiving.

it’s great to see EA pulling it’s head out of it’s ass.

Squadrons and Fallen Order have saved Star Wars games for me.

Is there going to be a better version of PSVR for the PS5? I’m like, THIS close to finally taking the plunge on VR, solely for Squadrons.

There are fewer things that inspire as much terror in my little gaming heart as the words “restrictive time limits” or “automatically fails if you take a single hit.”

The Adventure mode was something about Hyrule Warriors that sounded fun on paper...but in practice....I just couldn’t get in to it beyond the first map (we’re talking about the map/mini battle thing, right?)

The style looks completely different it does not at all look like the original game in terms of style.

That’s the difference between “graphics” and “art style”, which so many people fail to understand. Over and over, devs make the mistake of thinking more polygons and higher resolution textures can make up for crummy art direction and an ugly aesthetic.

I really hate the new look. In the original, everything on screen looked like they belong together. The remake looks like multiple art styles shoved together, especially the differences between the environments and characters.

Yeah, but it still kind of sucks that story content is confined to multiplayer.  I don’t do online multiplayer, so I’ll be missing out on it.

I know the update is free, but playing online is usually not free.

“A new horse.” I don’t want a new horse, I want my Kage back.

I hate that story is locked behind co-op. I wish they would let us complete the new story missions with an NPC partner. I also assume we will need PS+ to play this?

Yeah, the first Mario game had some pretty wonky controls. They really improved it in every game after that. This one has identical controls to the original game though.

No respect for the excellent link cable battles of Super Mario Bros. Deluxe on GBC

Guess this surprises me. I adore it. Maybe it’s just all the practice I put in before I turned 10.
