Yep. My dad has been a paramedic for over 20 years; he’s always told me that unless a car crash victim is either going to a) burn to death or b) bleed to death before paramedics arrive, the best you can do is keep them calm and still, and apply pressure to any visible wounds.

Hi, current Firefighter/EMT and former Army Combat Medic here.

That was my reaction as well. Not an EMT, but everything I was taught about first aid and such was to leave the person in place unless doing so presented a large danger than moving them.

Nothing prevents Cspine damage like whipping someone around in an overturned vehicle. 

Definitely not the right move here. (I’m not an EMT or anything but this should be common sense)

Except you’re aware the cop is there. It’s literally out in public. That leads to the obvious question of, “WHY is a cop blocking that road?”  The guy in the control room can hit a button and re-route you. You might ask your car, “Hey, why are we going this way?”, to which the car might say “optimal route”. You shrug…
