Literally every “gun zone” ordinance I’ve ever seen includes some variant of the clause “except for on-duty police officers.” They think about this shit for more than ten seconds when they write them.
They’re supposed to come out when their letter arrives by post-owl, obviously.
While I generally applaud cynicism in the face of corporate nonsense, there’s a difference between “let’s pay hundreds of thousands of workers next to nothing for decades” and “let’s not pay the top prize in this one event.”
Picard’s vineyard viewed from literally any other angle:
No, they said she “sees the red keep and decides to make it personal.”
From another post today:
last night’s next-to-final episode felt right. Like, yes, this is the way the show is supposed to go down
“TPUSA Member something something Turns Out He’s All White-Powery”
That will happen for some jobs regardless. They’re not going to avoid automation as long as the baristas don’t get uppity, so there’s no point in “not making waves” to try and avoid that.
The counter-argument to that is that having zero leverage for “essential, but not individually irreplaceable” people gives the company absolutely no incentive not to treat those employees as badly as the law allows.
Not true for everyone, but I’ve seen this in person: because Uber is a “job” you can get relatively fast when you are abruptly laid off/need cash/whatever, so long as you have an acceptable car. Or if you buy into their “drive to own!” programs which are...spotty, at best.
So for Jon to tell Arya to “go” and then she sneaks past the dragon and the walkers “ten seconds later,” that puts the raging injured undead dragon, spewing blue fire, crushing buildings, tearing indiscriminately into the crowd, and ice-flambeing everything was...what, right next to the godswood?
The “real” version looks like a fucking taxidermy accident
*Maisie Williams drops down from the ceiling and stabs Diplo*
In the lore of the show/books there have been many winters of varying lengths without the walkers being present/active. The walkers are linked to the “long night,” a potentially endless winter/night that sticks around as long as they’re the dominant force in westeros. No clue if it starts snowing in Mereen or what.
Honestly? Try it again now. The bandwidth issues are going to be the worst the night it first aired. Lot fewer people watching it now = less drag on the servers
The broader cognitive dissonance today isn’t limited to LGBTQ+ republicans; it’s in most average republicans and what they think the party represents.
I dunno this sounds like a pretty funny Netflix original. “The Incompetents” or something
Has anyone checked in on Stephen King to see how much splash damage he’s taking from tweets aimed at this moron? Because I bet it’s kinda hilarious.
