Have experienced the same heading to/from Japan. Though I was told that the missing piece of that story (and this one too, maybe) is that the cargo/mail/etc in the plane’s belly had likely already more than justified the cost of the flight; the humans were just icing on the cake.

Glad I’m not the only one who saw that. Calling soul-crushing overtime required to fix poor planning and communication “magic!” is a fucking dark condemnation of leadership, and it was never sustainable.

The real story here is that no one in her family ever felt the need to quietly change their name. Imagine meeting “Jeff and Sally Hitler.”

I don’t mind armed security (celebs getting stalkers and death threats aren’t uncommon), but the twitchy dude who had a little panic attack because he wasn’t paying attention definitely set off my alarm bells. 

I’m positive about what it’s good for. It’s an anti-drone drone; a defensive system. It’s not going to fly 15 minutes toward anything, it’s going to stay within a couple hundred yards of your important stuff/people and murder weaponized enemy drones.

That’s the weird part, though. Pleas are public record -- if he’d made one, it would be the headline of every story about this case. He didn’t plea anything, they just...stopped. 

Pure wild guess, but maybe they thought his lawyer getting dragged into his own case would give them grounds to make some sort of “process failure” argument?

Came here to say this. Soda’s definitely bad for you (I...easily swing +/- about ten pounds based purely on whether I’ve been drinking it or not), but these articles always make it sound like “31% increase” means “you’ve got a 1 in 3 chance of spontaneously dying right now oh god run it’s right behind you”
