I found the style similar to Hatchet, which won a Newbery so it can't be that bad. Short, sometimes choppy sentence structure.

Totally this.

Parents can't force their children to get their ears pierced, either. So why should this 16-year-old in question be forced to give birth?

I know that 'burbsnot was a typo, but that just sounds like a delightful name for a spoiled rich kid. =)

It's weird. I don't really like the taste, but here I am sitting with a cup in front of me. It really is a biochemical thing - my brain knows what it wants and it doesn't care what my mouth says.

Aww shit son. Anyone who sleep-groped me would draw back a bloody stump. Sleep is sacred.

When you find out, tell me. I pointed out to one friend that he's having trouble because he treats every first date like a wife audition. His response: "Well, it is!" *headwall*

I just watched this episode last night (partner loves the series and I'm watching for the first time) and I am inordinately excited that I get this. =)

Oh god, I wish YouTube had been around when I was in high school.

Port is a librarian, but not the shhh kind. The Rupert Giles kind.

Congressional Hunger Games!

Of course they'd do it. Shutting down the government is the conservative wet dream. Now they've got exactly what they wanted! No oversight, no funding for anything.

*shellfistbump*

You... are making no sense. Wax-tadpole stated these guys don't exist, I provided evidence that they most certainly do (as have others in other comments). What's your problem again?

Create what standard? Asking men out? I did. The ones who were offended effectively sorted themselves into the "douchebags I don't want to date" category.

So true. At least online dating really lets people put their douchebaggery out there in front - so much easier to avoid!

I have seen both online and in real life, men who insist that they would never date a woman who dared to ask them out. It's too forward or unladylike or doesn't allow them to be the manly pursuer or some bullshit.

There is absolutely time for alumni to interfere in the bidding process. From "if you give a bid to a black girl we'll pull funding" right up to "I see that bid - get rid of it."
