If you mean Homer, sure. Fat guy is lazy, stupid, slovenly etc. But there’s plenty of overweight characters where it never comes up, they just go about their successful lives. Eg Dr Hibbert, Kent Brockman.

I think this isn’t far off the mark. A lot of folk I know have very little self-confidence when it comes to this stuff. It’s easier just to do other things and take no risks, since they feel rejection is inevitable. Even the ones on tinder do a whole lot of swiping and very little dating.
