I wish A.A. had made some reference to this. The 2045 world of Ready Player One didn’t exactly choose to remain obsessed with 1980s pop culture. They are obsessed because Halliday is such an influential figure in their world. Its like if Bill Gates was completely obsessed with 80s pop culture and had bled that…
We’ve only had cars for 100 years, so I’m gonna guess “no”.
I’ve been lucky enough to avoid blowouts (225/50R17 tires on the TSX), but I’d been angling for a GTI with 18's I just don’t think it will cut it around here. Wranglers are cool, but I’m a wuss so the wind and tire noise is going to get to me. I really wish they made a Crosstrek with a turbo, or a VW Alltrack with the…
I’m with you, its incredibly frustrating. I really don’t want to switch to an SUV, but the terrible conditions of the roads is weighing heavily into my selection criteria. I’d happy to pay more to fix the roads so I can keep driving a sporty car.
You’re right my bad, I should have specified CUVs. Hyundai will soon have four: Kona, Tuscon, Santa Fe Sport, Santa Fe. Nissan has the Beat (replaces Juke), Rogue Sport, Rogue, Murano, and Pathfinder.
To piggyback on your comment, I think that Nissan and Hyundai are the worst offenders of the “cram the SUV’s” tactic.
That segment was very difficult to watch. That poor woman, alongside her child and husband, had to face down those assholes. I have no idea how that family maintained composure. I don’t think I would have been strong enough to refrain from physically attacking racist Santa.
“[S]ales seemingly entirely fueled by the endless manufacturer employee discounts that exist in the city, and they’d think “yes, this must mean people are buying them, and that it’s good.””
I’m late to the party, did anybody call the seats? They’re magnificently comfy for someone with a small frame.
Truly the embodiment of elegance.
That goes for the motorcycles too! You can have them modified to meet FMVSS regulations and imported by a registered importer. I honestly have no idea what that would have entailed besides converting my speedometer to MPH. I agree that its stupid.
Yes they do, same as cars. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. I actually had to store it in Germany for a few months before bringing it over last January.
I imported a motorcycle (1992 Kawasaki ZXR400) to Michigan from Germany this year. It was very easy once I had the correct seal stamped on the customs forms. There was some issue with the importer handling everything electronically and the state of Michigan wanting hard-copy proof.
I was thinking 35-50mm including crop factor. I’d love to hear the author’s opinion. I use a 50mm w/ 1.5x crop for portraits and I usually find its too close and tight for cool street shots.
There are certainly a wide range of situations and possible outcomes. The one I described certainly stuck with me and shaped my attitude toward end-of-life money management. I’m trying to gently encourage my other set of grandparents to commit to a trust early, and plan to “Brewster’s Millions” my own money before I…

As far as I understand it, the elderly person can commit their money to a trust an then sign control of that trust over to a trusted person. The money in the trust is no longer theirs, and they have no control over it. The person or persons controlling the trust would disburse money to the elderly person as needed.
Hope that you put those assets/savings into a trust 5 years before either of them needs medical services or a full-time assisted living facility. It will evaporate pretty quickly.
